Logic, Thought and Action
Contribute to our understanding of this dynamic process by clearly presenting and discussing the most important hypotheses, issues and theories in philosophical and logical study of language, thought and action. Among the fundamental issues discussed are the rationality and freedom of agents, theoretical and practical reasoning, individual and collective attitudes and actions, the nature of cooperation and communication, the construction and conditions of adequacy of scientific theories, propositional contents and their truth conditions, illocutionary force, time, aspect and presupposition in meaning, speech acts within dialogue, the dialogical approach to logic and the structure of dialogues and other language games, as well as formal methods needed in logic or artificial intelligence to account for choice, paradoxes, uncertainty and imprecision.

Les médecins et les équipes soignantes perçoivent comme une nouvelle pression la nécessité de transmettre le diagnostic de cancer et de discuter des options thérapeutiques avec un patient qui n’est pas toujours prêt à s y confronter. Bien que l’on puisse saluer le partage de l’information et encourager la transparence, le médecin prend le risque du blocage de dialogue, d’une indifférence, au pire d’un traumatisme. L’idée d’une diminution d’un certain pouvoir médical s’insinue dans le « dispositif » d’annonce qui renvoie la clinique à des apprentissages techniques. Au contraire, certains médecins cherchent à s’inscrire dans un mouvement plus démocratique. This volume, both necessary and new in the panorama of Italian medical literature, acknowledges this and presents an updated and complete review of the pathologies of the central and peripheral nervous system associated with tumors and their treatment. The purpose of the volume is to present an integrated approach between specialists that must see the neurologist and the oncologist in dialogue, and able to develop a new super-specialized clinical capacity in neuro-oncology. This book addresses a variety of issues relating to bioethics, in order to initiate cross-cultural dialogue. Beginning with the history, it introduces various views on bioethics, based on specific experiences from Japan. It describes how Japan has been confronted with Western bioethics and the ethical issues new to this modern age, and how it has found its foothold as it decides where it stands on these issues. In the last chapter, the author proposes discarding the overarching term ‘Global Bioethics’ in favor of the new term, ‘Bioethics Across the Globe (BAG)’, which carries a more universal connotation.
Arts of Allusion : Object, Ornament, and Architecture in Medieval Islam
The art of the object reached unparalleled heights in the medieval Islamic world, yet the deep intellectual dimensions of ceramics, metalwares, and other plastic arts in this milieu have not always been acknowledged. Arts of Allusion reveals the object as a crucial site where premodern craftsmen of the eastern Mediterranean and Persianate realms engaged their creations in fertile dialogue with poetry, literature, painting, and, perhaps most strikingly, architecture. Through close studies of objects from the ninth to the thirteenth centuries, this book reveals that allusions to architecture abound across media in the portable arts of the medieval Islamic world.
Artificial intelligence for customer relationship management : Solving customer problems
This book describes a number of applications of Artificial Intelligence in the field of Customer Relationship Management with the focus of solving customer problems. We design a system that tries to understand the customer complaint, his mood, and what can be done to resolve an issue with the product or service. To solve a customer problem efficiently, we maintain a dialogue with the customer so that the problem can be clarified and multiple ways to fix it can be sought. We introduce dialogue management based on discourse analysis: a systematic linguistic way to handle the thought process of the author of the content to be delivered. We analyze user sentiments and personal traits to tailor dialogue management to individual customers. We also design a number of dialogue scenarios for CRM with replies following certain patterns and propose virtual and social dialogues for various modalities of communication with a customer.

AIU projects evaluation platform
The project is a cloud computing system constructed to provide the service of helping students run their practical projects and work together while keeping track of every change in it, and teachers running the projects online and evaluating them. The system provided help doing this mission in real-time dialogue without having any dependencies downloaded on the machine and running it over the internet. The development of the system used a full-stack web framework and a database processing technology. The system has accomplished such services as running the projects online. The tests of the system are running in good conditions. The use of this system will solve the problem of teacher’s project evaluation and running them online.

In this book, we present a collection of papers around the topic of agent com- nication. The communication between agents has been one of the major topics of research in multiagent systems. The current work can therefore build on a number of previous Workshops of which the proceedings have been published in earlier volumes in this series. The basis of this collection is formed by the accepted submissions of the Workshop on Agent Communication held in c- junction with the AAMAS Conference in July 2004 in New York. the current collection comprises a very good and quite complete overview of the state of the art in this area of research and gives a good indication of the topics that are of major interest at the moment. The papers can roughly be divided over the following ?ve themes: – social commitments – multiparty communication – content languages – dialogues and conversations – speech acts Although these themes are of course not mutually exclusive they indicate some main directions of research. We therefore have arranged the papers in the book according to the topics indicated above.
