The Standard Model and Beyond ; Proceedings of the 2nd International Summer School in High Energy Physics, Muğla, 25–30 September 2006
This volume collects the edited tutorial lectures given at The Second International Summer School in High Energy Physics in Mgla, Turkey, in September 2006 - an annual event with international participation and a special focus on work done in the regions of central Asia. With emphasis on the standard model and beyond, lectures were devoted to presenting an introduction and update to many of the relevant topics, such as chiral perturbation theory, the Higgs mechanism, heavy flavour and b physics, CP violation, the AdS/CFT correspondence, ideas on grand unification and neutrino physics and astrophysics
Pattern Recognition, Tracking and Vertex Reconstruction in Particle Detectors
A comprehensive review of the methods and algorithms that are used in the reconstruction of events recorded by past, running and planned experiments at particle accelerators such as the LHC, SuperKEKB and FAIR.
Particle Physics Reference Library ; Vol.1 : Theory and Experiments
This first volume of the handbook series contains articles on the standard model of particle physics, both from the theoretical and experimental perspective. It also covers related topics, such as heavy-ion physics, neutrino physics and searches for new physics beyond the standard model.
Particle Accelerator Physics
Particle Accelerator Physics is an in-depth and comprehensive introduction to the field of high-energy particle acceleration and beam dynamics. This textbook is suitable for an intensive two-semester course starting at the advanced undergraduate level.
Introduction to the Classical Theory of Particles and Fields
This volume is intended as a systematic introduction to gauge field theory for advanced undergraduate and graduate students in high energy physics.
IFAE 2007 ; Incontri di Fisica delle Alte Energie = Italian Meeting on High Energy Physics Napoli, 11–13 April 2007
This book collects the Proceedings of the Workshop "Incontri di Fisica delle Alte Energie (IFAE) 2007, Napoli, 11-13 April 2007". This is the sixth edition of a series of meetings on fundamental research in particle physics and was attended by about 160 researchers. Presentations, both theoretical and experimental, addressed the status of Physics of the Standard Model and beyond, Flavour phyisc, Neutrino and Astroparticle physics, new technology in high energy physics. Special emphasis was given to the expectations of the forthcoming Large Hadron Collider, due in operation at the end of 2007.
IFAE 2006 : Incontri di Fisica delle Alte Energie = Italian Meeting on High Energy Physics
This book collects the Proceedings of the Workshop ``Incontri di Fisica delle Alte Energie (IFAE) 2006, Pavia, 19-21 April 2006". Presentations, both theoretical and experimental, addressed the status of Standard Model and Flavour phyiscs, Neutrino and Cosmological topics, new insights beyond the present understanding of particle physics and cross-fertilization in areas such as medicine, biology, technological spin-offs and computing.
Frontiers of Fundamental Physics ; Proceedings of the Sixth International Symposium "Frontiers of Fundamental and Computational Physics", Udine, Italy, 26-29 September 2004
The Sixth International Symposium "Frontiers of Fundamental and Computational Physics", Udine, Italy, 26-29 September 2004, aimed at providing a platform for a wide range of physicists to meet and share thoughts on the latest trends in various, mainly cross-disciplinary research areas. This includes the exploration of frontier lines in High Energy Physics, Theoretical Physics, Gravitation and Cosmology, Astrophysics, Condensed Matter Physics, Fluid Mechanics. Such frontier lines were unified by the use of computers as an, often primary, research instruments, or dealing with issues related to information theory.
