Local Newforms for GSp(4)
Local Newforms for GSp(4) describes a theory of new- and oldforms for representations of GSp(4) over a non-archimedean local field. This theory considers vectors fixed by the paramodular groups, and singles out certain vectors that encode canonical information, such as L-factors and epsilon-factors, through their Hecke and Atkin-Lehner eigenvalues. While there are analogies to the GL(2) case, this theory is novel and unanticipated by the existing framework of conjectures. An appendix includes extensive tables about the results and the representation theory of GSp(4).
Liver carcinogenesis : Methods and protocols
Discusses the latest advancements in modern methodologies used to study liver carcinogenesis. The first half of this book describes pertinent preclinical models of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), established either through orthotopic induction of ectopic implantation. The second half of this book covers a diverse array of techniques applied to characterize the biochemical and cellular composition of hepatic malignancies that operate at the single-cell and histological levels. Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.
Learners in a Changing Learning Landscape: Reflections from a Dialogue on New Roles and Expectations
Today's learners face constant change. Adaptive learner expertise is key to their survival on a learning journey that lasts a lifetime. This requires new thinking of all actors in the learning environment. The fundamental process through which this book was created is an extended in-depth dialogue among researchers, lifelong learners, educators, and thinkers.
La riabilitazione dei disturbi cognitivi nella sclerosi multipla = The rehabilitation of cognitive disorders in multiple sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis is one of the most frequent causes of chronic disability in young adults. It mainly affects individuals between 20 and 50 years of age, with a peak of incidence around the age of 30. This disease is characterized by the presence of demyelinating lesions of an inflammatory nature disseminated in the central nervous system. The different localization of these lesions is at the basis of the variability of clinical symptoms which can be characterized by motor, sensory, neurovegetative and cognitive disorders. The latter concern about half of the patients affected by this pathology and have a significant impact on the personal, family and work situation of these patients.

Complications in Cranio-Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery
This superbly illustrated book equips readers with a detailed, up-to-date understanding of the surgical and nonsurgical complications that may arise during cranio-maxillofacial and oral surgery for a range of conditions, including malformations, infections, trauma, and tumors.
Complex Systems in Biomedicine
Features contributions from several Italian research groups that are working on the field of biomedicine. Each chapter in this book deals with a specific subfield, with the aim of providing an overview of the subject and an account of the research results.
Complex Orthogonal Space-Time Processing in Wireless Communications
Complex Orthogonal Space-Time Processing in Wireless Communications incorporates orthogonal space-time processing using STBCs in MIMO wireless communication systems. Complex Orthogonal STBCs (CO STBCs) are given emphasis because they can be used for PSK/QAM modulation schemes and are more practical than real STBCs. The overall coverage provides general knowledge about space-time processing and its applications for broad audiences. It also includes the most up-to-date review of the literature on space-time processing in general, and space-time block processing in particular.
Compilers : Principles, techniques, and tools
This introduction to compilers is the direct descendant of the well-known book by Aho and Ullman, Principles of Compiler Design. The authors present updated coverage of compilers based on research and techniques that have been developed in the field over the past few years. The book provides a thorough introduction to compiler design and covers topics such as context-free grammars, fine state machines, and syntax-directed translation.

Communication in Cancer Care
This textbook represents one of the most fnding a way to support their loved one and help comprehensive as well as clinically relevant - them maintain hope, advocate on their behalf, ited volumes on the subject of communication help collect and integrate information. Tis must in cancer care to appear to date.
Chemistry of natural products : phytochemistry and pharmacognosy of medicinal plants
Plants produce secondary metabolites that humans harness for their own benefit. About half of drugs currently in clinical use are based on these chemicals found in nature. Chemistry of Natural Products covers secondary metabolites present in medicinal plants and their biosynthesis, biological activities, and isolation and separation techniques.
Change 2.0 : Beyond Organisational Transformation
"This is a book about change … . It’s a collection of 14 articles including four case studies. … ‘a collection of articles intended to inspire those involved in the practical implementation of change’." (Rodney Gray, Strategic Communication Management, Issue 11, 2008)
Carpooling optimization
The aim of this project is to collect and use the GPS data from mobile devices to get geolocations and translate this data to paths, starting points and destinations to detect patterns out of each individual trajectories that have stochastic nature on the close sight and find representations of those patterns. The second half of the artificial intelligence algorithms has the task of finding the optimal matching of the patterns that were detected in a computation efficient way that achieve the most efficient way of transportation.
Cardiac Mechanotransduction
For about hundred years the investigation of heart physiology has had one central guiding principle, the "law" of Frank and Starling. This connects the return of blood into the heart and the blood pressure with cardiac con traction force. The "law" does it in a way that enables the cardiovascular system to react to perturbations without major malfunctions. This book is a compilation of reviews of prominent scientists on this subject. The differ ence of the original formulation of the Frank-Starling principle is that mechanotransduction is the central theme that leads the reader through the book. Since the discovery of the "law" the scope of topics related to this subject has broadened enormously, as can be seen easily by glancing at the contents of this book. Mechanotransduction in the heart has many faces that range from molecules to humans and their diseases.
Cálculo científico con MATLAB y Octave = Scientific computing with MATLAB and Octave
This textbook is an introduction to Scientific Calculus, illustrating various numerical methods for the computer solution of certain classes of mathematical problems. The authors show how to compute the zeros or integrals of continuous functions, solve linear systems, approximate functions by polynomials, and construct precise approximations for the solution of differential equations. To make the presentation concrete and attractive, the MATLAB programming environment has been adopted as a faithful companion.
Cálculo científico com MATLAB e Octave = Scientific calculus with MATLAB and Octave
Its objective is to present various numerical methods for solving certain mathematical problems on the computer that cannot be treated in a simpler way. Classical issues such as the computation of zeros or integrals of continuous functions, the solving of linear systems, the approximation of functions by polynomials and the construction of precise approximations for solutions of differential equations are addressed. All algorithms are presented in the programming languages MATLAB and Octave, whose main commands and instructions are introduced gradually, aiming in particular at their compatibility in both languages.
Calcolo Scientifico : Esercizi e problemi risolti con MATLAB e Octave = Scientific computing : exercises and problems solved with MATLAB and Octave
For the short courses of the new system of the Faculties of Engineering and Sciences. It deals with all the typical topics of Numerical Mathematics, ranging from the problem of approximating a function, to the computation of its zeros, its derivatives and its definite integral up to the approximate solution of ordinary differential equations and limit problems.
