Molecular Imaging : Computer Reconstruction and Practice

This book reports the majority of lectures given during the NATO Advanced Study Institute ASI-982440, which was held at the European Scienti?c Institute of Archamps (ESI, Archamps – France) from November 9 to November 21, 2006. The ASI course was structured in two parts, the ?rst was dedicated to individual imaging techniques while the second is the object of this volume and focused on data modelling and processing and on image archiving and distribution. Courses devoted to nuclear medicine and digital imaging techniques are collected in a c- plementary volume of NATO Science Series entitled “Physics for Medical Imaging Applications”

Knowledge and Skill Chains in Engineering and Manufacturing : Information Infrastructure in the Era of Global Communications

Explores knowledge and skill chains in engineering and manufacturing in the age of global communications. Information infrastructure involves a range of activities from product planning, engineering, and manufacturing trough transportation, marketing, and repair/upgrade to returns and recycling/disposal. Distinct from the traditional engineering database, life-cycle support information has its own characteristic requirements, -- flexible extensibility, distributed architecture, multiple viewpoints, long-time archiving, and product usage information. Several authors address the architecture of the information infrastructure, its services and its requirements. Other papers focus on the knowledge and skill chains that develop in a variety of situations: the supply chain, the factory floor, the man-system interaction, etc. For each of these, state-of-the-art and state-of-research scenarios for various industrial sectors address both engineering and operations requirements in the current socio-economic environment.

Business partner management : Successfully managing external and internal business relationships

Provides a structured, industry-independent and at the same time practical insight into all types of business partnerships. Both relationships with external business partners and internal partnerships with colleagues and employees are considered in depth. The focus is on people as partner and individual with interests and goals. The comparison to private partnerships is quite intentional and illustrates the explanations. Findings from brain research, learning and cooperation are also included.
