The Coherence of Kants Transcendental Idealism

Presents a new defense of the coh- ence and plausibility of Kant’s transcendental idealism and its indisp- sability for his theory of knowledge. I will show that the main argument of the Transcendental Aesthetic and the Transcendental Analytic is - fensible independently of some of Kant’s claims which are said to threaten its coherence. I have undertaken an inquiry into the coherence of Kant’s transc- dental idealism for the following reasons. A defense of the coherence of transcendental idealism is required by the existing state of Kantian scholarship. The claim that Kant’s transcendental idealism is incoh- ent has appeared in various forms over the last two centuries.

Territorial Rights

The question of who is entitled to exercise jurisdiction over which land is of fundamental theoretical and practical importance. It has, however, been neglected by contemporary political philosophers. In her thoughtful and stimulating work, Territorial Rights, Tamar Meisels provides a much needed analysis of the normative issues involved. Territorial Rights is a comprehensive, rigorous and illuminating analysis. It provides both an evaluation of competing philosophical perspectives and a defence of a liberal nationalist perspective on territory. In doing so it includes instructive discussions of the implications of Locke's political thought for territorial rights, and the continuing relevance of historic injustices. It would be of interest to anyone interested in questions of territorial rights.

Techniques virales avancées = Advanced viral techniques

Deals with advanced techniques of computer virology from a double perspective: the analysis of antiviral defense and the different phases of an attack using malicious code. The point of view adopted is that of the attacker insofar as it is the only one which really allows the one who has the responsibility to defend a system, to understand what can happen and to consider the solutions to be implemented. artwork. The chosen approach involves the use of original Boolean systems, complexity theory and computability theory. Using general models, studying and identifying the most complex instances of the detection problem helps to determine how a near-undetectable attack can be designed.

Talent Development in European Higher Education : Honors programs in the Benelux, Nordic and German-speaking countries

Examines the much-debated question of how to unleash the potential of young people with promising intellectual abilities and motivation. It looks at the increasingly important topic of excellence in education, and the shift in focus towards the provision of programs to support talented students in higher education. It provides a systematic overview of programs for talented students at northern European higher education institutions (HEIs). Starting in the Netherlands, where nearly all HEIs have developed honors programs over the past two decades, the book explores three clusters of countries: the Benelux, the Nordic and the German-speaking countries. For each of these countries, it discusses the local culture towards excellence, the structure of the education system, and the presence of honors programs.

Structures and Dynamics of Autopoietic Organizations : Theory and Simulation

Knowledge, learning, and memory are major concepts in management science and organization theory. First and foremost, they are attributed to individuals rather than organizations. Steffen Blaschke reconsiders the three major concepts in the light of social systems theory. He complements autopoietic organization theory with a clear-cut distinction between individual and organizational knowledge, learning, and memory. Following suit of agent-based modelling, he provides an operationalization of autopoietic organization theory in terms of computational simulation. The author subjects organizational structures and dynamics to a range of simulation scenarios, thereby questioning the effects of work groups and communities of practice as well as personnel turnover and layoff on knowledge, learning, and memory.

Structural Change and Exchange Rate Dynamics : The Economics of EU Eastern Enlargement

Structural change, economic growth and adequate exchange rate adjustment are key challenges in the context of EU eastern enlargement as are consistent macroeconomic policies. The authors focus on sectoral adjustment across industries in catching-up countries and explain changes in the composition of output – this includes new aspects of the Chenery model. They describe and analyze the spatial pattern of specialization and adjustment in many countries. Theoretical and empirical analysis of foreign direct investment, innovation and structural change shed new light on economic dynamics in Old Europe and New Europe. As regards exchange rate dynamics both traditional aspects (such as the Balassa-Samuelson effect) and new approaches to understanding exchange rate developments are presented. Links between exchange rate changes and innovation are particularly emphasized.

Solid self micro emulsifying drug delivery system

Explores the formulation of Solid Self-Microemulsifying Drug Delivery Systems (SSMEDDS) as a strategy to enhance oral bioavailability and reduce GI side effects of NSAIDs. Tiaprofenic acid, a poorly soluble acidic NSAID, was selected as a model drug to develop and evaluate the delivery system. Excipients were selected using Hansen solubility parameters. While castor oil showed optimal solubility, it was excluded due to known irritancy. Olive oil was chosen for its adequate solubilization capacity and documented gastric protective effects. The optimized SMEDDS formulation was solidified via adsorption on Aerosil.

Services Liberalisation in the Internal Market

Liberalisation of cross-border service provision developed into one of the most controversial European integration issues. In the public debate – that for the first time provided a glimpse of a European public in nuce – in particular the first draft of the regulation was subject to severe criticism, being often called the "Frankenstein directive", the transposition of which inevitably would lead to a breakdown of the so called "European Social Model", a term that was also coined during the debate. On the other hand, the defenders of the concept promised the creation of jobs without number, if the Directive were realised.
