Arab International University Participates in the Erasmus+ Programme for International and Academic Cooperation at Sapienza University of Italy – Rome, Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine

Upon invitation from Sapienza University of Italy – Rome, Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine, and within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme for international academic cooperation, the Arab International University was represented by Dr. Huda Mandou. A visit was conducted to the Department of Chemistry and Technologies of Drugs – Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine – Pharmaceutical Area at Sapienza University of Rome – Italy, during the period 19–25 April.

During the visit, four lectures were delivered under the following titles:

  1. Speeding up Drug Discovery: CADD

  2. Hierarchical Virtual Screening of SARS-CoV-2 Main Protease Potential Inhibitors: Similarity Search, Pharmacophore Modeling and Molecular Docking Study

  3. The Role of Medicinal Chemistry in Clinical Pharmacy and Community Pharmacy Practice

  4. When CADD Met Artificial Intelligence: Success Stories in Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD)

The lectures were attended by undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students.

The visit also included a tour of the scientific research laboratories and featured discussions on potential future scientific cooperation
