Dr. Ahmad Alwarak

Dr. Ahmad Waraq is a faculty member at the College of Business Administration of the Arab International University in Syria, holding the rank of Lecturer. He possesses extensive academic and professional experience in the fields of Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, and Organizational Leadership.

He earned his Ph.D. in Management Sciences from the Higher Institute for Business Administration (HIBA) in Damascus. His dissertation focused on "The Impact of Strategic Human Resource Management on Retaining Core Employees, with the Mediating Role of Employee Well-being." He also received both his Master's degree and Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from the same institute, reflecting a comprehensive and specialized academic journey in this field.

He teaches a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Arab International University, the Syrian Virtual University, the Higher Institute for Business Administration (HIBA), and Al-Sham Private University. His key courses include: Human Resource Management, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior, Leadership and Motivation, and Innovation Management. He also supervises several Master's theses in Quality Management and Technology Management programs.

Alongside his academic work, he has held several prominent administrative positions at the Arab International University, including Dean of the College of Business Administration (2024-2025) and Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs (2022-2024). He gained significant professional experience in the banking sector through his work at Bank Al-Sharq in Damascus, where he undertook multiple HR management responsibilities, including Head of the Recruitment and Career Development Unit.

He has published a number of peer-reviewed scientific papers in reputable Arab and international journals, addressing topics such as organizational trust, job well-being, and employee retention. He is the author of a book published by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) in 2024, titled "Strategy for Retaining Competent Employees in Organizations."

He has participated in numerous training courses in Syria and Lebanon in the areas of Strategic Management, Competency-Based Interviews, and HR Indicators. He is also active in voluntary and professional work as a member of the International Human Resources Management (IHRM) Association and the Syndicate of Financial and Banking Professions.
