Model-Driven Architecture - Foundations and Applications ; 2nd European Conference, ECMDA-FA 2006, Bilbao, Spain, July 10-13, 2006, Proceedings
The goal of the European Conference on Model-Driven Architecture — Foundations and Applications (ECMDA-FA) is to bring together industry and academia to tackle the problems in model-driven development. This volume includes 18 foundation papers and 12 application papers, which is a fine balance between both worlds. ECMDA-FA 2006 also hosted six workshops on both theoretical and practical aspects of MDA. Furthermore, the keynote speakers, David Frankel and Bran Selic, from some of the world’s largest IT companies proved that industry is very much involved in MDA. This second ECMDA-FA conference is the result of the work of the authors who submitted a total of 78 papers, the Program Committee members who took the effort to review the papers, the people organizing the workshops, and of course the Steering Committee. All in all, several hundreds of people have worked hard to make this conference a success.

The papers in this volume were presented at TMRA 2006, the International Conference on Topic Maps Research and Applications, held October 11–12, 2006, in Leipzig, Germany. TMRA 2006 was the second conference of an annual series of international conferences dedicated to Topic Maps in research and industry.

The papers in this volume were presented at the workshop “Topic Map Research and Applications 2005” held on October 6-7, 2005, in Leipzig. TMRA 2005 was the first workshop of an annual series of international workshops dedicated to topic maps in research and industry. As the motto “Charting the Topic Maps Research and Applications Landscape” suggests, the aim of TMRA 2005 was to identify the primary open issues in research, learn about who is working on what, bring together researchers and application pioneers, stimulate the systematic tackling of such issues, and foster the exchange of ideas in a stimulating setting.

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the International Dagstuhl-Seminar on Architecting Systems with Trustworthy Components, held in Dagstuhl Castle, Germany, in December 2004. The 10 revised full papers presented together with 5 invited papers contributed by outstanding researchers were carefully selected and included in the book reflecting ongoing impovement from the seminar. Core problems addressed by the seminar are measurement and normalization of non-functional properties, modular reasoning over non-functional properties, capture of component requirements in interfaces and protocols, interference and synergy of top-down and bottom-up aspects, duality of componentization and architecture, system properties, and opportunities for correctness by construction/static checking.
