Prof. Dr. Tamer Al Hajeh

Prof. Dr. Tamer Al-Hajja is a distinguished academic and administrative figure in Syria, combining deep scientific expertise in Civil Engineering with an extensive career in institutional and public management. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Aleppo, then pursued his higher education in Germany, where he obtained both a Diploma and a Ph.D. in Reinforced Concrete from the Leipzig University of Applied Sciences (HTWK Leipzig).

Throughout his career, Dr. Al-Hajja has held several prominent academic and administrative positions, including Vice Dean and later Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Al-Baath University. He also assumed high-level national leadership roles, serving as the Chairman of Homs City Council, the Governor of Rif Dimashq and Aleppo, and subsequently the Minister of Local Administration and Environment.

In 2011, he joined the Arab International University (AIU), where he has held various scientific and leadership roles, including Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs. He currently serves as the President of the University, contributing significantly to the advancement of its academic and administrative operations.

In addition to his administrative leadership, Dr. Al-Hajja has authored numerous scientific books and textbooks. He has published extensive research in local and international journals and has been an active participant in scientific conferences and seminars at national, regional, and international levels, reflecting his broad scientific and professional influence.
