Prof. Dr. Hussen Omran
He is a Syrian academic and diplomat with extensive experience in higher education, international cultural relations, and diplomacy. He holds a degree in English Literature from the University of Damascus, in addition to a diploma in German Language and Literature. Throughout his career, he has held several leadership positions in the Ministry of Higher Education, including Director of the Department of Intermediate Institutes, and served as an advisor for Syrian students in Germany.
He worked as a Professor of German Language and Comparative Literature in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Damascus, and previously managed the University’s International Relations and Cultural Affairs Office. He also served as Director of the Culture and Communication Programs at the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO), before being appointed Ambassador of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Federal Republic of Germany.
