Arab International University Welcomes the Relaunch of the Erasmus+ Programme in Syria and Reaffirms Its Commitment to Strengthening International Academic Partnerships

The Arab International University (AIU) welcomes the European Union's announcement of its plan for the permanent re-establishment of the Erasmus+ Programme in the Syrian Arab Republic, through the opening of the Erasmus+ National Office in 2027—a step that represents a significant milestone in supporting the higher education sector and enhancing international academic cooperation.

Building on its prior experience and active participation in Erasmus+ projects, the Arab International University affirms that the programme's return will open new horizons for Syrian higher education institutions, contribute to expanding partnerships with European universities, and strengthen academic exchange programmes for students and faculty members, alongside supporting institutional capacity building, advancing scientific research, and launching joint academic projects with sustainable impact.

The Arab International University renews its commitment to supporting this new phase of international cooperation and to contributing effectively to the development of Syria's higher education system through knowledge transfer, expertise exchange, innovation promotion, and the establishment of strategic partnerships with European universities and academic institutions. This will positively reflect on the quality of education and scientific research, and provide broader opportunities for its students, alumni, and faculty members on the international stage.

The Arab International University firmly believes that the reactivation of the Erasmus+ Programme represents a strategic step toward strengthening the Syrian academic presence on the international arena and consolidating bridges of scientific and cultural cooperation with European universities, in service of the future of education and development in Syria.
