Prof. Dr. Wafaa Falhout

She studied law at Damascus University and then pursued postgraduate studies, obtaining a diploma in Public International Law, followed by a Master's degree in Public Law, before earning a Ph.D. in Private International Law in 2005. She possesses over twenty years of academic experience in teaching and researching Private and Public International Law, International Commercial Arbitration, International Contracts, Conflict of Laws, and Jurisdictional Conflicts, along with extensive experience in academically supervising diploma, master's, and doctoral theses.

She has held prominent academic and administrative roles, including serving as Head of the International Law Department at the Faculty of Law, Damascus University; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law for Administrative and Student Affairs; and membership in several high-level university committees, in addition to working as a practicing lawyer and professor registered with the Syrian Bar Association.

She has taught at various universities and educational institutions both within and outside Syria, including Damascus University, the Arab International Private University, the Syrian Virtual University, and Ajman University in the United Arab Emirates. She has notable expertise in academic quality, having served as the Quality Coordinator for the Law Program at the Syrian Virtual University and receiving recognition as an outstanding professor.

She has participated in numerous international and Arab conferences as a researcher, lecturer, and member of scientific committees, making significant contributions in areas such as commercial arbitration, nationality, conflict of laws, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence and law. She has also taken part in training courses for the preparation and qualification of arbitrators and has delivered specialized lectures both within Syria and abroad. She is a certified trainer at the Impact Training Center in Dubai.

She has published numerous peer-reviewed research papers in Arab and university law journals and has contributed to authoring university textbooks used in several Syrian and Arab universities. Her published works include in-depth studies on nationality, international contracts, applicable law, and technology transfer, as well as articles in Syrian media addressing issues of citizenship and women's rights.
