Dr. Rasha ALJerd

Assistant Professor in Accounting and a Syrian Certified Accountant with over fifteen years of academic and professional experience in the fields of university teaching, auditing, and financial accounting. Currently serving as the Head of the Accounting Department at the Arab International University in Damascus since 2018, where she has taught a wide range of courses, including: Cost Accounting, Auditing, Advanced Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Tax Accounting, International Accounting, and Accounting Theory.

She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting (Auditing Division) from the Faculty of Economics at Damascus University, after obtaining a Master's in Accounting and a Bachelor's in Economics from the same university. She has contributed to teaching at several Syrian universities, including Damascus University and Al-Sham University, with diverse experience in teaching accounting, financial, and administrative courses. Alongside her academic career, she has practical professional experience, having worked as a Senior Auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), as well as a Financial Manager and Chief Accountant at major companies.

She has authored several scientific research papers published in local and international peer-reviewed journals and has presented research at international academic conferences. Her research interests focus on audit quality, corporate governance, accounting disclosure, social responsibility, and earnings management. She combines academic expertise with practical application in her career, demonstrating strong research and teaching skills, along with the ability to provide academic supervision, write reports, and conduct financial analysis.
