Dr. Nisren Radwan

Dr. Nisren Radwan

An academic and researcher specializing in criminal law, cybercrimes, and digital intellectual property protection. She earned her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law at Damascus University for her dissertation on "Criminal Protection of Intellectual Property in the Realm of Electronic Software," following a Master’s degree in Public Law, a Diploma in Criminal Sciences, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law. She has been a member of the Damascus Bar Association since 2008.

She currently holds a full-time faculty position at the Arab International University since 2018 and previously taught at the Faculty of Law, Damascus University. She also has administrative experience as the Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs at Qasioun Private University.

She is distinguished by a rich academic output, having published several peer-reviewed studies in Syrian, Arab, and international scientific journals. Her research topics include: the applicability of patent law to computer programs, criminal protection of computer programs and information from destruction, evidence in cybercrimes and the role of digital evidence, and criminal protection of women in Syrian law compared to Arab laws. She has also published research with Dar Al-Hikma – Manchester, UK, on searching the intangible components of computers. Additionally, she has authored university textbooks at the Arab International University on "Criminal Investigation and Forensic Medicine" and "Cybercrimes and Emerging Economic Crimes" (in progress).

She has participated in international conferences and seminars, including the 2023 Algeria Conference on the principle of equality between men and women, and the 2025 International Conference in Libya on crimes committed in Gaza before the International Criminal Court.

Alongside her academic work, she has extensive experience in the legal and banking sectors. She has worked as an experienced lawyer and legal consultant for several banks and held senior positions in credit and banking guarantees at the International Bank for Trade and Finance and the Syrian International Islamic Bank.
