Dr. Haytham Zarzor
He is a distinguished academic in the field of civil engineering, specializing in reinforced concrete and structural engineering. He graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Damascus and pursued his postgraduate studies in Germany, where he obtained a Diploma in Engineering and a PhD in Structural Engineering from the Technical University of Dresden.
He began his professional career as an engineer at Khorasana Company between 1982 and 1984, and joined the University of Damascus in 1991 as a lecturer in the Department of Structural Engineering (Reinforced Concrete) at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, a position he continues to hold today. Since 1999, he has also worked as a consulting engineer and has been a member of the Syrian Informatics Society since 1992.
He has participated in numerous scientific conferences both in Syria and abroad, including the Scientific Conference in Dresden (1989) and the Scientific Week in Latakia (1992). He has taught Reinforced Concrete courses at both the Faculties of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the University of Damascus and has supervised many conferences and academic events. He conducted advanced research in fiber-reinforced concrete during research periods in Dresden in 1998 and 2004.
In addition to his academic and research expertise, he has studied and reviewed numerous public and private projects and implemented multiple structures. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at the Arab International University. He is fluent in German and proficient in English, enhancing his international academic and research communication.
