Dr. Ahmad Qaerouz
Alongside his academic work, he serves as a member of the Sharia Supervisory Board at Baraka Bank – Syria, where he contributes to ensuring that financial products and transactions comply with the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
He holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Islamic jurisprudence and its principles from the Faculty of Sharia – University of Damascus, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Sharia from the same university. He has contributed to academic research through a number of peer-reviewed studies focusing on contemporary issues in Islamic financial transactions, such as capital protection, the impact of inflation, debts, Ijarah Muntahia Bittamleek (lease-to-own), and compensation in engagement (Khutbah).
He has a published book titled:
"Gambling and Games of Chance: Their Reality and Contemporary Forms – A Comparative Juristic Study,"
published by Arouqa for Studies and Publishing in Amman (2016), in addition to numerous research papers published in Arab and university peer-reviewed journals between 2018 and 2024.
He is known for his research depth in issues of comparative jurisprudence and its applications in Islamic economics, particularly concerning transactional contracts, financial rights protection, and addressing contemporary challenges with well-founded juristic solutions.
