Prof. Dr. Amal Sharba

Professor at the Faculty of Law at Damascus University and the Arab International University, holding a Ph.D. in Law from Damascus University and a Diploma in Private Law and Criminal Sciences from the same university. She possesses over twenty years of academic and professional experience, during which she held several administrative and academic positions, including Head of the Private Law Department and Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs at the Faculty of Law, Damascus University.

In addition to her academic work, she has been practicing law since 1995 and has represented clients before various types of courts: civil, criminal, sharia, and administrative. She has also participated in several prominent legal committees, including the Committee for Amending the Civil Procedures Law and the Committee for Amending the Notary Law.

She has shared her teaching expertise at numerous public and private Syrian universities and has authored several university textbooks used in law and economics faculties, as well as academic programs at the Syrian Virtual University, such as "Commercial Business Law," "Labor and Social Security Law," and "Legal Sociology." She is also distinguished by a wide-ranging scholarly output, including research published in local and Arab peer-reviewed journals in the fields of property, obligations, judiciary, enforcement, and intellectual property.

She has participated in prestigious international intellectual property conferences in Singapore and Geneva and contributed to academic events related to women's work, child protection, human trafficking, and the social role of law. She was also a member of the team that developed the gender-sensitive legal guide in collaboration with the Euro-Mediterranean Women’s Foundation.
