Dr. Numman Almuftee

Holds a Ph.D. in Forensic Toxicology from the University of Córdoba, Spain, a Master’s in Forensic Science from the University of Lincoln, UK, and a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from the Arab International University in Syria. Possesses extensive experience in the fields of pharmacy and forensic toxicology, including university teaching, scientific research, and pharmaceutical product development.

Currently serves as Head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Drug Effects, in addition to working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Arab International University in Syria (since 2024). Previously worked as Director of Pharmaceutical Development and Licensing in Germany, and as a scientific researcher (Forensic Toxicologist) at the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany, as well as a scientific researcher (Analytical Chemist) at the University of Córdoba, Spain.

Has outstanding research contributions published in prestigious international scientific journals, focusing on the development of green (environmentally friendly) and advanced analytical methods for detecting substances used in drug-facilitated sexual assault crimes, utilizing techniques such as supramolecular solvent extraction and liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

Member of the British Societies for Pharmacy, Chemistry, and Forensic Science, and actively participates in international conferences and workshops in the fields of forensic medicine and analytical chemistry in Spain, Portugal, and the UK.
