Dr. Marwan Alghabra
Dr. Marwan Al-Ghabra is a physician and consultant specializing in ophthalmology and eye surgery, with over four decades of experience in clinical practice, scientific research, and medical education. He earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus in 1981, and subsequently pursued his specialization in the United Kingdom, obtaining a Diploma in Ophthalmology from the Royal Irish College in 1986.
He became a member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in the UK in 1989 and was awarded the Fellowship of the British Surgeons in 1993. He also completed a subspecialty in retinal surgery at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London in 1999, further enhancing his expertise in this advanced field.
He served as a Consultant in Ophthalmology and Eye Surgery in London between 1997 and 1998 and is one of the founders of the Eye and Ear Hospital, which he has been affiliated with since 2000. He has published numerous research articles in the British Journal of Ophthalmology (BJO) and has lectured at the University of Damascus as well as at specialized scientific conferences in Europe.
