The book analyzes attitudes to people with various disabilities based on Muslim jurists’ works (fiqh) in the Middle Ages and the modern era. In the Islamic legal literature people with disabilities are mentioned sporadically, and often within broad topics such as religious duties, jihad, marriage, etc., but seldom as a subject by its own right. Very little has been written so far on people with disabilities in a general Islamic context, much less in reference to Islamic law. This is the innovation of the book.

This volume contains 22 research and survey papers on recent developments in the field of diophantine approximation. The first article by Hans Peter Schlickewei is devoted to the scientific work of Wolfgang Schmidt. Further contributions deal with the subspace theorem and its applications to diophantine equations and to the study of linear recurring sequences. The articles are either in the spirit of more classical diophantine analysis or of geometric or combinatorial flavor. Commercialization of the technology is proceeding at a steadypace. We haveseen watermarkingadoptedfor DVD audio.Fingerpri- ing technology was successfully used to determine the source of pirated video material. Furthermore, a number of companies are using watermarking as an enabling technology for broadcast monitoring services. Watermarking of digital cinema contentis anticipated. Future applications may also come from areas- related to digital rights management. For example, the use of watermarking to enhance legacy broadcast and communication systems is now being considered. IWDW 2005 o?ers an opportunity to re?ect upon the state of the art in digital watermarking as well as discuss directions for future research and applications. This year we accepted 31 papers from 74 submissions. This 42% acceptance rate indicates our commitment to ensuring a very high quality conference.

Relatively much is known about cross-linguistic variation in the marking of subjects, yet little attempt has been made to formalize the facts. This volume aims to unify formal approaches to language and presents both specific case studies of DSM and theoretical approaches.
Differential Geometry and Analysis on CR Manifolds
The study of CR manifolds lies at the intersection of three main mathematical disciplines: partial differential equations, complex analysis in several complex variables, and differential geometry. While the PDE and complex analytic aspects have been intensely studied in the last fifty years, much effort has recently been made to understand the differential geometric side of the subject. This monograph provides a unified presentation of several differential geometric aspects in the theory of CR manifolds and tangential Cauchy–Riemann equations. It presents the major differential geometric acheivements in the theory of CR manifolds, such as the Tanaka–Webster connection, Fefferman's metric, pseudo-Einstein structures and the Lee conjecture, CR immersions, subelliptic harmonic maps as a local manifestation of pseudoharmonic maps from a CR manifold, Yang–Mills fields on CR manifolds, to name a few. It also aims at explaining how certain results from analysis are employed in CR geometry.Motivated by clear exposition, many examples, explicitly worked-out geometric results, and stimulating unproved statements and comments referring to the most recent aspects of the theory.
Differential Analysis on Complex Manifolds
In developing the tools necessary for the study of complex manifolds, this comprehensive, well-organized treatment presents in its opening chapters a detailed survey of recent progress in four areas: geometry (manifolds with vector bundles), algebraic topology, differential geometry, and partial differential equations. Subsequent chapters then develop such topics as Hermitian exterior algebra and the Hodge *-operator, harmonic theory on compact manifolds, differential operators on a Kahler manifold, the Hodge decomposition theorem on compact Kahler manifolds, the Hodge-Riemann bilinear relations on Kahler manifolds, Griffiths's period mapping, quadratic transformations, and Kodaira's vanishing and embedding theorems.
Diet and fertility
Infertility and subfertility affect a significant part of the population. Among various definitions of this pathology, the most ommon one is provided by the World Health Organization; it says that infertility is 'a disease of the reproductive system defined by the failure to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of regular unprotected sexual intercourses. The global prevalence of infertility is about 50-70 million couples. Since the process of human reproduction involves a large number of factors, a broad spectrum of infertility tests might be applied. Some of the tests focus directly on the pregnancy, some are only partially effective, whereas others should not be recommended for infertile couples.
