We are delighted to welcome the attendees of the Fourth International Wo- shop on Digital Watermarking (IWDW). Watermarking continues to generate strong academic interest. Commercialization of the technology is proceeding at a steadypace. We haveseen watermarkingadoptedfor DVD audio.Fingerpri- ing technology was successfully used to determine the source of pirated video material. Furthermore, a number of companies are using watermarking as an enabling technology for broadcast monitoring services. Watermarking of digital cinema contentis anticipated. Future applications may also come from areas- related to digital rights management. For example, the use of watermarking to enhance legacy broadcast and communication systems is now being considered. IWDW 2005 o?ers an opportunity to re?ect upon the state of the art in digital watermarking as well as discuss directions for future research and applications. This year we accepted 31 papers from 74 submissions. This 42% acceptance rate indicates our commitment to ensuring a very high quality conference.
Digital twin : Architectures, networks, and applications
Offers comprehensive, self-contained knowledge on digital twin (DT), which is a very promising technology for achieving digital intelligence in the next-generation wireless communications and computing networks. DT is a key technology to connect physical systems and digital spaces in Metaverse. The objectives of this book are to provide the basic concepts of DT, to explore the promising applications of DT integrated with emerging technologies, and to give insights into the possible future directions of DT. For easy understanding, this book also presents several use cases for DT models and applications in different scenarios. Designing Organizations : 21st Century Approaches
The design of organizations has been an ongoing concern of management theory and practice over the past several decades. Over this time, there has been little change in the fundamental theory, principles and concepts of Organization Design (OD). Recently organizational life has changed dramatically with the advent of: new communication systems, adaptive mechanisms, information technology, knowledge management systems, innovation processes and more. This book systemically examines these developments and their impact on OD with contributions from leading scholars in the area. Also featured in the book are the practical issues with implementing OD in organizations. The individual chapters are organized into five sections: (1) Putting Contingency Theory in its Place, (2) Focus on Individuals Who Make up the Organization, (3) Innovation Processes and Organization Design, (4) Adaptation and Technology, and (5) Design for Performance. Control of Turbulent and Magnetohydrodynamic Channel Flows : Boundary Stabilization and State Estimation
This monograph presents new constructive design methods for boundary stabilization and boundary estimation for several classes of benchmark problems in flow control, with potential applications to turbulence control, weather forecasting, and plasma control. The basis of the approach used in the work is the recently developed continuous backstepping method for parabolic partial differential equations, expanding the applicability of boundary controllers for flow systems from low Reynolds numbers to high Reynolds number conditions. Efforts in flow control over the last few years have led to a wide range of developments in many different directions, but most implementable developments thus far have been obtained using discretized versions of the plant models and finite-dimensional control techniques. In contrast, the design methods examined in this book are based on the “continuum” version of the backstepping approach, applied to the PDE model of the flow.

Computational Plasticity
The different chapters of this book present recent progress and future research directions in the field of computational plasticity. A common line of many contributions is that a stronger interaction between the phenomenological and micromechanical modelling of plasticity behaviour is apparent and the use of inverse identification techniques is also more prominent. The development of adaptive strategies for plasticity problems continues to be a challenging goal, while it is interesting to note the permanence of element modelling as a research issue. Industrial forming processes, geomechanics, steel and concrete structures form the core of the applications of the different numerical methods presented in the book.
