Pharmacokinetic-Pharmacodynamic Modeling and Simulation
This book presents both the art and science behind pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic modeling. Using a building-block approach, the author starts from linear and nonlinear models at the individual level and proceeds to develop more complex linear and nonlinear mixed effects models at the population level, with particular emphasis on showing the interrelationships between the various model types. The theory behind the methods are illustrated using real data drawn from the literature and from the author’s own experiences in drug development. Data are analyzed using a variety of software, including SAS, WinNonlin, SAAM II, and NONMEM. A key component of the book is to show how models are accepted and rejected, ultimately leading to a useful and informative model that can be utilized using computer simulation to answer "what-if" questions.
Pharmacogenitics
General principle was developed for the selection of subjects for Pharmacogenetics investigations. Depending on the particular metabolic pathway involved, studies may require that subjects be under carefully controlled, homogeneous environmental condition. Otherwise, segregation in families of some genetically transmitted traits can be concealed by effect from multiple hos factors. Therefore; in some Pharmacogenetics studies of pharmacokinetic variations, differences among subjects with respect to critical host factors can profoundly influence the results obtained and conclusions drawn.

The traditional differential equations are all replaced by the Laplace transformation which also makes it possible to better differentiate the phenomenon of linearity and non-linearity. Perturbations of Positive Semigroups with Applications is a self-contained introduction to semigroup theory with emphasis on positive semigroups on Banach lattices and perturbation techniques. The first part of the book, which should be regarded as an extended reference section, presents a survey of the results from functional analysis, the theory of positive operators and the theory of semigroups that are needed for the second, applied part of the book; worked examples are provided to help absorb the theoretical material. The second part then deals with the application of the developed theory to a variety of problems ranging from the classical birth-and-death type problems of population dynamics, through fragmentation models in both conservative and mass loss regimes, to kinetic models.
Perturbation Methods and Semilinear Elliptic Problems on Rn
