Vector Control of Three-Phase AC Machines : System Development in the Practice

This monograph covers the area of vector control of three-phase AC machines, in particular induction motors with squirrel-cage rotor (IM), permanent excited synchronous motors (PMSM) and doubly-fed induction machines (DFIM), from the viewpoint of the practical design and development. Main focus is on the application of the IM and the PMSM in electrical drive systems, where the method of the field-orientated control has been successfully established in the practice, and on the use of the grid voltage orientated controlled DFIM in the wind power plants.

Vacuum Technology : Practice for Scientific Instruments

Utilizing Sumac (Rhus coriaria) in pharmaceutical preparations for skin health

Aims to extract gelatin from sumac berries and incorporate it into two cosmetic products—a lip balm and a facial/hand mask—evaluating their physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, and skinbenefiting attributes. A secondary objective is to assess the level of awareness among the Syrian population regarding sumac’s various uses beyond its culinary applications. Sumac fruits were mechanically ground and subjected to immersion, ultrasound, and microwave-assisted extraction methods, followed by filtration and evaporation to yield a viscous gelatinous extract.

Transabdominal ultrasound has become accepted in clinical practice as a primary imaging procedure in the diagnostic work-up and follow-up of various disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the use of ultrasound in the imaging of acute and chronic inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal tract as well as of neoplastic and infectious diseases.
