This Designers' Guide looks specifically at these actions as they apply to bridges, including full explanation, commentary, examples, and direction to the National Annex documents on each of the following parts and sub-parts of the code. EN1991-1-4, Eurocode 1: Actions on structures -General actions - Part 1-4: Wind actions, is the head code for wind actions on structures and describes the principles and requirements for calculating design wind loads on structures. It complies with the requirements of Eurocode EN1990, Eurocode: Basis of Structural Design, and provides the wind actions necessary to implement the structural design Eurocodes 2 to 9.

Cyanobacterial Harmful Algal Blooms : State of the Science and Research Needs
Humans can be exposed to cyanobacterial toxins by drinking water that contains the toxins, swimming in water that contains high concentrations of cyanobacterial cells, or breathing air that contains cyanobacterial cells or toxins (while watering a lawn with contaminated water, for example). Health effects associated with exposure to high concentrations of cyanobacterial toxins include: - stomach and intestinal illness; -trouble breathing; - allergic responses; - skin irritation; - liver damage; and neurotoxic reactions, such as tingling fingers and toes. Scientists are exploring the human health effects associated with long-term exposure to low levels of cyanobacterial toxins. Some studies have suggested that such exposure could be associated with chronic illnesses, such as liver cancer and digestive-system cancer. This monograph contains the proceedings of the International Symposium on Cyanobacterial Harmful Algal Blooms held in Research Triangle Park, NC, September 6-10, 2005.
Customer Processes in Business-to-Business Service Transactions
Janine Frauendorf analyzes how customer processes can be used to optimize the overall service process. In this context, the service blueprint represents the key tool of the thesis – originally a tool for designing and optimizing the internal process of the service operator, it is now extended by the customer process side. Transaction cost theory, as the link between supplier process and customer process, on the one hand and the script construct from cognitive psychology on the other, provide the theoretical basis for the thesis. On the basis of empirical results, the author presents significant implications for services research and helpful suggestions for business practice.

The theoretical basis of ethnomathematics offers a valid alternative to traditional studies of history, philosophy, cognition, and pedagogical aspects of mathematics.
