Variations on Constants : Flow Analysis of Sequential and Parallel Programs
This monograph, a revised version of the author's habilitation thesis, focusses on optimal flow analysis of sequential and parallel programs. It studies algorithmic properties of various versions of the well-known constant-propagation problem. In order to come to grips with the variants considered, it combines techniques from different areas such as linear algebra, computable ring theory, abstract interpretation, program verification, complexity theory, etc. Combination of techniques is the key to further progress in automatic analysis and constant-propagation allows us to illustrate this point in a theoretical study.

Theory of Copper Oxide Superconductors
This is an advanced textbook for graduate students and researchers wishing to learn about high temperature superconductivity in copper oxides, in particular the Kamimura-Suwa (K-S) model. Because a number of models have been proposed since the discovery of high temperature superconductivity by Bednorz and Müller in 1986, the book first explains briefly the historical development that led to the K-S model. It then focuses on the physical background necessary to understand the K-S model and on the basic principles behind various physical phenomena such as electronic structures, electrical, thermal and optical properties, and the mechanism of high temperature superconductivity.

Superconductivity in Complex Systems
In this volume of the Springer Series “Structure and Bonding” superconductivity in unconventional systems is reviewed with emphasis on cuprate supercon-ductors, however one additional contribution to the superconductivity of alka-li-doped fullerides A3C60has also been included. Even though in this latter com-pound the evidence for phonon mediated pairing is well manifested, the prob-lem to be solved lies in the fact that the Coulomb repulsion is of the same orderof magnitude as the vibronic energy, whereas the A2C60and A4C60 are insula-tors, the A3C60is a superconductor. Treating both energy scales on the samefooting, an interesting interplay between Coulomb and phonon contributionsresults which enables electron (hole) pairing locally.
St. Johns Wort and its Active Principles in Depression and Anxiety
Hypericum extract preparations are used extensively in many countries to treat mildly to moderately depressed patients. While this was based previously on traditional experience, extensive research over the last 10 years has given a broad preclinical and clinical basis to justify the use of Hypericum as an antidepressant. This book reviews the available data related to the biochemical, functional, and behavioural pharmacology of Hypericum and its active constituents. The clinical chapters overview the evidenced basis for its use as an antidepressant, initial data in anxiety and somatoform disorders, and the site effect profile of Hypericum and its possible relevant drug interactions. The known pharmacokinetics of the relevant constituents and the biopharmaceutical quality of commercially available Hypericum preparations are also discussed.

Revenue Management with Flexible Products : Models and Methods for the Broadcasting Industry
Remarkable features of revenue management (RM) problems in the cargo, manufacturing and broadcasting industries are so-called flexible products. "Flexibility" means that the actual mode of production is not defined at the time of purchase, but can be chosen later on by the service provider. This book is among the first to analyze RM problems with flexible products and RM in broadcasting companies. The implications of flexibility are explicitly taken into account in the models and methods presented. As an aside, the book contains descriptions of algorithms to generate stochastic demand data streams for general RM problems. An implementation as a Microsoft Windows executable file is available, which can directly be used both by theoreticians and practitioners in their own simulation studies.
