المشروع عبارة عن وحدة سكنية طالبية في المدينة الجامعية لجامعة دمشق. يتألف المشروع من قبو يستخدم كملجأ و ثمانية طوابق فوق الأرض. يقع المشروع ضمن المنطقة الزلزالية الثانية.
إعادة تأهيل وترميم البلدة القديمة في الزبداني
المشروع يهدف الى إعادة المباني الى حالتها الاصلية والحفاظ عليها والمحافظة على قيمتها التاريخية والمعمارية مع مرور الزمن. يمثل المشروع خطوة استراتيجية مهمة للحفاظ على التراث العمراني والثقافي لمدينة الزبداني ويهدف الى احياء المنطقة من خلال ترميم المباني التي تعود الى الزمن القديم في السعي لتحويلها الى وجهة ثقافية وسياحية وتجارية.ان المنطقة القديمة ليست منطقة وحسب بالنسبة لسكان مدينة الزبداني بل لها الأهمية الكبرى كونها تقع في نواة ومركز المدينة وكانت قبل الحرب تحوي أكبر سوق تجاري. سيتم دراسة المنطقة بالكامل من واجهات وأسقف وأبواب وارضيات إضافة للأسطح الخارجية بموجب دراسات معمارية محددة تعيد طابع البلدة القديمة الى الأبنية القائمة او المهدمة والواجب ازالتها. الترميم سيكون على طراز البلدة القديمة وسيتم رصف طرقات وساحات البلدة بالحجر البازلتي وتسقيفها.

Wild Urban Woodlands : New Perspectives for Urban Forestry
This volume focuses on a particular component of the urban forest - trix - urban wild woodlands. We understand these to be stands of woody plants, within the impact area of cities, whose form is characterized by trees and in which a large leeway for natural processes makes possible a convergence toward wilderness. The wilderness character of these urban woodlands can vary greatly. We differentiate between two kinds of w- derness. The "old wilderness" is the traditional one; it may return slowly to woodland areas when forestry use has been abandoned. The enhancement of wilderness is a task already demanded of urban and peri-urban forestry in many places. This book would like to direct the attention of the reader to a second kind of wilderness, which we call "new wilderness." This arises on heavily altered urban-industrial areas where abandonment of use makes such change possible. The wild nature of urban abandoned areas was discovered in the 1970s through urban-ecological research.

Viscosity of Liquids : Theory, Estimation, Experiment, and Data
The need for properties is ever increasing to make processes more economical. A good survey of the viscosity data, its critical evaluation and correlation would help design engineers, scientists and technologists in their areas of interest. This type of work assumes more importance as the amount of experimental work in collection and correlation of properties such as viscosity, thermal conductivity, heat capacities, etc has reduced drastically both at the industry, universities, and national laboratories. One of the c o-authors, Professor Viswanath, co-authored a book jointly with Dr. Natarajan “Data Book on the Viscosity of Liquids” in 1989 which mainly presented collected and evaluated liquid viscosity data from the literature. Although it is one of its kinds in the field, Prof. Viswanath recognized that the design engineers, scientists and technologists should have a better understanding of theories, experimental procedures, and operational aspects of viscometers.

Urban Groundwater Management and Sustainability
Given that around 50% of the world’s population live in cities, and that urban populations are expanding rapidly, the issues are important and becoming increasingly urgent. To reduce the effects of such impacts, management is required irrespective of whether the groundwater is to be used or not. This management must be based on a sound technical understanding of the interacting processes involved. The forty papers in this volume explore the state of this understanding in the context of a wide range of countries (and therefore cultures), climates, and geologies. They are divided into topic areas covering flow, chemical water quality, biological water quality, remediation, engineering, and socio-economics. An initial section sets the scene with a range of integrated regional-scale studies. The volume provides an insight into groundwater issues for other urban specialists, including planners: without communication between the disciplines involved, progress towards acceptable urban sustainability will be slow.
