The Cr- tographers’ Track is one of the many parallel tracks. These proceedings contain the papers presented during the sixth edition. The tradition indeed started in 2001, and is by now well established: the Cryptographers’ Track at the RSA Conference is among the major events in cryptography. There were 72 submitted contributions, of which 22 were selected for p- sentation. They cover all aspects of cryptography (symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, constructions and attacks, new trends).

Tools for High Performance Computing ; Proceedings of the 2nd International Workshop on Parallel Tools for High Performance Computing, July 2008, HLRS, Stuttgart

To support application developers in the various tasks involved in this process, several different tools need to be at his or her disposal. This workshop will give the users an overview of the existing tools in the area of integrated development environments for clusters, various parallel debuggers, and new-style performance analysis tools, as well as an update on the state of the art of long-term research tools, which have advanced to an industrial level. The proceedings of the 2nd Parallel Tools Workshop guide participants by providing a technical overview to help them decide upon which tool suits the requirements for the development task at hand. Additionally, through the hands-on sessions, the workshop will enable the user to immediately deploy the tools.

Time-Varying Network Optimization

Network flow optimization analyzes optimization problems on networks; hence, network optimization is reflected in many application fields including transportation, telecommunication, computer networking, financial planning, logistics and supply chain management, energy systems, etc. However, to date, most network optimization problems that have been studied are static network optimization problems. But "real world networks" are time-varying in essence, and therefore any flow within a network must take a certain amount of time to traverse an arc. Moreover, the parameters of "real world networks" may change over time.

Time--Frequency and Time--Scale Methods : Adaptive Decompositions, Uncertainty Principles, and Sampling

Developed in this book are several deep connections between time--frequency (Fourier/Gabor) analysis and time--scale (wavelet) analysis, emphasizing the powerful adaptive methods that emerge when separate techniques from each area are properly assembled in a larger context. While researchers at the forefront of developments in time--frequency and time--scale analysis are well aware of the benefits of such a unified approach, there remains a knowledge gap in the larger community of practitioners about the precise strengths and limitations of Fourier/Gabor analysis versus wavelets. This book fills that gap by presenting the interface of time--frequency and time--scale methods as a rich area of work.

Three-Dimensional Television : Capture, Transmission, Display

3DTV require the integration of a diversity of key technologies from computing to graphics, imaging to display, and signal processing to communications. The scope of this book reflects this diversity: different chapters deal with different stages of an end-to-end 3DTV system such as capture, representation, coding, transmission, and display. Both autostereoscopic techniques which eliminate the need for special glasses and allow viewer movement, and holographic approaches which have the potential to provide the truest three-dimensional images, are covered. Some chapters discuss current research trends in 3DTV technology, while others address underlying topics.
