almost half a century ago. Today, after so many years of feverish research and uncountable efforts worldwide, the end of the war appears far as ever, whereas the fight is leading researchers to newer and newer battlefronts while frontiers in bioscience are continuously being surpassed. In this scenario, “The Selfish Cell” is a script record of the most important strategic points gathered during these years of war, with the goal to provide solid ground onto which to step ahead for future assaults against this terrible disease. At the same time, it is an attempt to shift the debate on cancer toward a more peaceful and possibly productive semantic terrain, where to reflect with the aid of superior wisdom to finally get out of that terrible chaos of fight and death dominating our days. In this perspective, “The selfish cell” becomes an occasion for reflecting the limits of our human selfishness and their consequences on both our social and natural environment.

The role of six sigma culture in supporting the organizational culture in Syrian banks
Aims to try to try to highlight on the impact of the new administrative methodologies (six sigma) on the culture of a sample of banks in Syria (the International Islamic Bank and Al-Sharq Bank) and the extent of the banks' willingness to apply the Six Sigma approach. The results of the comparison between the two banks showed that there were statistically significant differences between the two banks in favor of Syria International Islamic Bank, as it has more six sigma components in all cultures than the components of Al Sharq Bank.

It plays an essential role in protection by using it in sterilization and giving distinct results , it was also used to eliminate bacteria and viruses by incorporating nanofilter with many material containing the ability to reduce reproduction of bacteria or eliminating it. We have several examples of these materials like ( Copper (II) oxide, silver , graphene ) . Because of these unique features , nanofiber has been used in many filters types like ( air nanofilter , water nanofilter , oil nano filter ....etc.) But the specific type that interests us uses nanofilter in face masks.
The role of internal audit in Improving internal control : A case study in an insurance company
This research aims to clarifying the definition of internal audit and how developing internal control and give recommendation to improve controls. research was approached as a case study on an insurance company in Syria of 2021 by using primary and qualitative data with the motor department, the medical, life and travel department, and the technical department and randomly withdraw sample for each claims and policies to evaluate controls and keep up with policies and procedures. Internal audit has a big role to avoid and protect companies from mistakes, omission and fraud and provide value to company and to reducing the risks. Internal audit influences an organization positively by service assurance of internal control.
The role of financial indicators in influencing the market price of shares
Research focused on five private Syrian banks, which were represented by five different banks in their performance so that the sample is not biased, namely (Bemo Bank, Baraka Bank, The Arab Bank, the International Bank for Trade and Finance and the Cham Bank) and during five years (2016 to 2020) and using one of the indicators, which were (debt index, profitability index, stock index and liquidity index). Our study showed that there is a weak Positive relationship between the return on equity index. Ownership and the market price of the share, and that there is a weak inverse relationship between the indicators of the liquidity ratio and the debt ratio with the market price of the share, in addition to the presence of a strong Positive relationship between the book value multiplier and the market price of the share.

The power of communicating the family firm status : The positive effect of family firms as a brand on consumer buying behavior and consumer happiness
Margarete Rosina investigates whether it makes sense for family firms to communicate their family firm status to consumers. To do so, she conducts two experimental studies using a sample of 349 consumers. Using a branding perspective, the first study looks at whether consumers perceive family firm brands as more authentic and why and how this influences their buying behavior. The second study applies a consumer happiness perspective and investigates whether family firms signal prosocial behaviors related to “doing good”, namely being a good employer and socially responsible, and whether this, in turn, leads to higher levels of consumer happiness when buying from family firms.

The Metaphysics of Science : An Account of Modern Science in Terms of Principles, Laws and Theories
The roots of this work lie in my earlier book, Scientific Progress, which first appeared in 1981. One of its topics, the distinction - tween scientific laws and theories, is there treated with reference to the same distinction as drawn by N. R. Campbell in his Physics: The Elements. Shortly after completing Scientific Progress, I read Rom Harré’s The Principles of Scientific Thinking, in which the concept of theory is even more clearly delineated than in Campbell, being directly connected to the notion of a model – as it was in my book. In subsequent considerations regarding science, Harré’s work thus - came my main source of inspiration with regard to theories, while Campbell’s remained my main source with respect to empirical laws. Around the same time I also read William Whewell’s Philosophy of the Inductive Sciences.

The Intrinsic Aspects of the Vigorous Placebo and Nocebo Effect

A detailed elaboration about placebo drugs and placebo effects is presented in the theoretical part of this research, along with explaining the complicated pathways of the placebo effect‘s mechanisms. Further information about the nocebo effect is also explained with the factors that influence the degree of that effect. As for the practical research, the first procedure focused on revealing the placebo effect on opioid receptors. The first two days focused on conditioning the mice and by the third day, the results were compared to show if there was a placebo effect tendency according to the length of the response latency.
