Substrate phosphorylation by protein kinases controls intracellular signal transduction pathways that mediate cell proliferation, migration, differentiation, and metabolism. The importance of the protein kinase family is underscored by numerous disease states that arise due to dysregulation of kinase activity. Recent progress in understanding the molecular regulation of kinases has led to the development of new therapeutics based on the inhibition of kinase activity. Inhibitors that target protein kinases have proven efficacious in clinical settings and their continued development is the current focus of many drug discovery groups.
Spanish Economic Growth, 1850–2015
This text offers a comprehensive and nuanced view of the economic development of Spain since 1850. It provides a new set of historical GDP estimates for Spain from the demand and supply sides, and presents a reconstruction of production and expenditure series for the century prior to the introduction of modern national accounts. The author splices available national accounts sets over the period 1958–2015 through interpolation, as an alternative to conventional retropolation. The resulting national accounts series are linked to the historical estimates providing yearly series for GDP and its components since 1850.

Spaces of Holomorphic Functions in the Unit Ball
There has been a flurry of activity in recent years in the loosely defined area of holomorphic spaces. This book discusses the most well-known and widely used spaces of holomorphic functions in the unit ball of C^n. Spaces discussed include the Bergman spaces, the Hardy spaces, the Bloch space, BMOA, the Dirichlet space, the Besov spaces, and the Lipschitz spaces. Most proofs in the book are new and simpler than the existing ones in the literature. The central idea in almost all these proofs is based on integral representations of holomorphic functions and elementary properties of the Bergman kernel, the Bergman metric, and the automorphism group. The unit ball was chosen as the setting since most results can be achieved there using straightforward formulas without much fuss. The book can be read comfortably by anyone familiar with single variable complex analysis; no prerequisite on several complex variables is required. The author has included exercises at the end of each chapter that vary greatly in the level of difficulty.
