Target Cancer Therapy
Cancer is known as abnormal growth of cells due to genetic mutations associated with other factors such as smocking, overweight, physical inactivity and changing reproductive pattern. Each mutation drives a wave of cellular multiplication associated with gradual increases in tumor size, disorganization and malignancy. Cancer treatment are invasive, painful, expensive and often creating long term negative side effect. The most common cancer treatment are chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery, hormone therapy, stem cell transplant and the modest one is targeted cancer therapy. Target cancer therapies are drugs or other substances that block the growth and spread of cancer by interfering with specific molecules that are involved in the growth, progression and spread of cancer. Targeted therapies are currently focus of much anticancer drug development, they are cornerstone of precision medicine, a form of medicine that uses information about person’s genes and proteins to prevent, diagnose and treat disease.

The Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning (Formas) is currently responsible for the Swedish contacts with . When Formas was established in it inherited the Swedish national committee for the promotion of contacts and systems a- lysis that was originally set up by the Swedish Council for Planning and Coordination of Research (frn ), which was abolished in conjunction with a major reform of the Swedish research ?nancing system. Within the framework of the Committee a special project was launched in line with a proposal by Gunnar Sjöstedt dealing with the Swedish experience in s- tems analysis and thus, indirectly, with themes related to most of ’s activities. The project co-ordination and editorial tasks were given to Mats-Olov Olsson and Gunnar Sjöstedt under the direct surveillance of the Committee. Many of the Committee members and their co-workers as well as several other Swedish scholars have contributed to this book.

System Level Design of Reconfigurable Systems-on-Chip
Focuses on system level design issues for reconfigurable SoCs, and provides information on reconfiguration aspects of complex SoCs and how they can be implemented in practice. It is divided in three parts. The first part provides background information and requirements on reconfigurable technologies and systems. The second one identifies existing methodological gaps, and introduces a design flow for developing reconfigurable Systems-on-Chip. The high level part of the design flow can be covered by two C++ based methodologies: one based on SystemC and one based on OCAPI-XL, both including appropriate extensions to handle reconfiguration issues. Finally, the third part of the book presents reconfigurable SoCs from the perspective of the designer, through three indicative case studies from the wireless and multimedia communication domain.
