Performance Analysis of Network Architectures
Parallel and distributed computer systems are built to close the gap between the demand for high-performance computing and the computing power available using standalone single-processor machines. Traffic in networks connecting such systems is typically characterized by its distribution in time and space. Three approaches can be applied to determine the related network performance: measurement, simulation, and mathematical methods.

IWPEC events are intended to cover research in all aspects of parameterizedand exact computation and complexity, including but not limited to new techniques for the design and analysis of parameterized and exact al- rithms, parameterized complexity theory, relationships between parameterized complexity and traditional complexity, applications of parameterized and exact computation, implementation issues and high-performance computing. A major goal is to disseminate the latest research results, including signi?cant work-- progress, and to identify, define and explore directions for future study. The papers accepted for presentation and printed in these proceedings rep- sent a diverse spectrum of the latest developments on parameterized and exact algorithm design, analysis, application and implementation.
Parallel and Distributed Computing : Applications and Technologies ; 5th International Conference, PDCAT 2004, Singapore, December 8-10, 2004, Proceedings
The technical program was comprehensive and featured keynote speeches, te- nical paper presentations, and exhibitions showcased by industry vendors. The technical program committee was overwhelmed with submissions of papers for presentation, from countries worldwide. We received 242 papers and after - viewing them, based on stringent selection criteria, we accepted 173 papers. The papers in the proceedings focus on parallel and distributed computing viewed from the three perspectives of networking and architectures, software systems and technologies, and algorithms and applications. We acknowledge the great contribution from all of our local and international committee members and - per reviewers who devoted their time in the review process and provided valuable feedback for the authors. PDCAT 2004 could never have been successful without the support and ass- tance of several institutions and many people.

This is the joint post-proceedings of the 6th International Symposium on High Performance Computing (ISHPC-VI) and the First International Workshop on Advanced Low Power Systems 2006 (ALPS2006). The post-proceedings also contain the papers presented at the Second HPF International Workshop: - periences and Progress (HiWEP2005) and the Workshop on Applications for PetaFLOPS Computing (APC2005), which are workshops of ISHPC-VI. ISHPC-VI, HiWEP2005 and APC2005 were held in Nara, Japan during September 7–9, 2005. Fifty-eight papers from 11 countries were submitted to ISHPC-VI. After the reviews of the submitted papers, the ISHPC-VI Program Committee selected 15 regular (12-page) papers for oral presentation. In ad- tion, several other papers with favorable reviews were recommended for poster presentation, and 14 short (8-page) papers were also selected.

Explores the application of high-performance computing (HPC) technologies to computational drug discovery (CDD) and biomedicine. Collects CDD approaches that, together with HPC, can revolutionize and automate drug discovery process, such as knowledge graphs, natural language processing (NLP), Bayesian optimization, automated virtual screening platforms, alchemical free energy workflows, fragment-molecular orbitals (FMO), HPC-adapted molecular dynamic simulation (MD-HPC), and the potential of cloud computing for drug discovery. And delves into computational algorithms and workflows for biomedicine, featuring an HPC framework to assess drug-induced arrhythmic risk, digital patient applications relevant to the clinic, virtual human simulations, cellular and whole-body blood flow modeling for stroke treatments, prediction of the femoral bone strength from CT data, and many more subjects.

The 1st International Life Science Grid Workshop (LSGRID 2004) was held in Kanazawa Japan, May 31–June 1, 2004.
