Auriculothérapie : Acupuncture auriculaire = Auriculotherapy : Auricular acupuncture
The auricle is a privileged place to observe and treat patients reflexively. It is endowed with both a particularly rich innervation, and brief connections with the higher nervous centers. It constitutes both a reading pavilion, to observe information coming from the organs and nerve endings of the skin, and a control pavilion to help correct abnormal information. It is a lookout post, placed bypassing the brainstem, on the path connecting the organs and the brain. It thus allows a fair control and an effective intervention. In this medical treatise on Auriculotherapy, historical and scientific data, medical explanations and bibliographical references are presented.

Approche pratique de la couverture des pertes de substance cutanée de la main et des doigts = Practical Approach to Covering Skin Losses from the Hand and Fingers
This book is neither a summary nor an encyclopedia devoted to the treatment of loss of skin substance in the hand. There are currently excellent books that can serve as a reference, at any time, for the treatment of any skin defect, of the hand ... or elsewhere. We wanted a completely different perspective on trauma management open by hand, while respecting the spirit of the “Practical Approach” collection directed by Christian Fontaine: a simple presentation diagram, relatively stereotypical, a rich and varied iconography, tips and tricks, in short, an anthology of technical details and answers to the most common questions about hand flap surgery.

The result is an all-inclusive text which readers—including scientists and students involved in plant genetic engineering—will find useful as a reference source for all major aspects of the Agrobacterium-mediated genetic transformation of plant and non-plant organisms.
Aesthetic Surgery of the Facial Mosaic
This authoritative reference book assembles the experience of an international faculty of authors, each of whom has performed several thousand facelifts, i.e. procedures to rejuvenate and harmonize the human face. All procedures in this regard are covered and the text is accompanied by extensive artwork and photographs. The authors share their experience, including tips and tricks, as well as ways to avoid complications and pitfalls. Special emphasis is given to the concept of looking at the face as a mosaic, i.e. treating its individual parts in a harmonic way and maintaining mimic units. Combining different methods.

25 Years of P53 Research
Communication, awareness and access to information: Given the complexity of the field and the fact that data pertaining to each particular aspects of p53 biology or deregulation are scattered in many different publications, it is extremely difficult to access the full scale of relevant information of any specific p53-related topic. This book may help in this task by putting into perspective both general considerations on the p53 pathway and more specific information on various aspects of p53. In the longer term, however, open access to p53 complexity will require the development of knowledge bases accessible through the web and using simple navigation tools to guide users towards the specific information they need. Several efforts are currently being developed in that direction. They need to be strenghtened and better integrated within the rapidly growing galaxy of web-based information sources on molecular and individual variations in cancer. 2. Reference functional assays and structural analysis: Given the huge diversity of cellular and animal models for wild-type or mutant p53 functions, it will be important to set up standard, universally accepted assays to measure critical p53 protein functions.

Long-Term Preservation of Digital Documents : Principles and Practices
Key to our culture is that we can disseminate information, and then maintain and access it over time. While we are rapidly advancing from vulnerable physical solutions to superior, digital media, preserving and using data over the long term involves complicated research challenges and organization efforts. Uwe Borghoff and his coauthors address the problem of storing, reading, and using digital data for periods longer than 50 years. They briefly describe several markup and document description languages like TIFF, PDF, HTML, and XML, explain the most important techniques such as migration and emulation, and present the OAIS (Open Archival Information System) Reference Model. To complement this background information on the technology issues the authors present the most relevant international preservation projects, such as the Dublin Core Metadata Initiative, and experiences from sample projects run by the Cornell University Library and the National Library of the Netherlands. A rated survey list of available systems and tools completes the book.
