Wafer Level 3-D ICs Process Technology

The core of the book discusses alternative technology platforms for pre-packaging wafer level 3-D ICs, with an emphasis on wafer-to-wafer stacking. Driven by the need for improved performance, a number of companies, consortia and universities are researching methods to use short, monolithically-fabricated, vertical interconnections to replace the long interconnects found in 2-D ICs. Stacking disparate technologies to provide various combinations of densely-packed functions, such as logic, memory, MEMS, displays, RF, mixed-signal, sensors, and power delivery is potentially possible with 3-D heterogeneous integration, making this technology the "Holy Grail" of system integration.

Unifying Perspectives in Computational and Robot Vision

The field of computer vision has developed significantly over the last several years and the application areas span a broad range from medicine to robotics and surveillance. In robotics, computer vision is mainly seen as another sensory modality and new algorithms are commonly developed for different applications. In the computer vision community, there have been more requirements for benchmarking and comparison of methods but very few are still applied in realistic settings and in real-time which is one of the strongest requirements in robotic applications. Unifying Perspectives in Computational and Robot Vision brings the communities of robot and computer vision to a joint appreciation of the value of systems, where there is a need to consider all aspects from perception to action generation.I1222

Ultrasonic ranging and object detection using arduino

This project aims to develop a novel method for recognizing the shape of an object located behind thin medium utilizing combination of ultrasonic sensor signal. This system is extensively designed so that it can recognize objects in front of the sensor. Once the object approach near ultrasonic sensor system will identify shapes of the objects. The sensor mounted on the servo dc motor and connected to Arduino. When it detects an object, it will take a photo using camera then send it to computer to process it using MATLAB to give close answer of what this thing.

Ultra Low Power Capacitive Sensor Interfaces

Starts with an overview on the most important design aspects for autonomous sensor systems. The different building blocks are discussed and the modular architecture for the generic sensor interface chip is presented. Furthermore, the design of the analog components, such as capacitance-to-voltage converters, switched capacitor amplifier, Sigma Delta modulator, oscillators and reference circuits, is described in more detail. Finally, the generic sensor interface chip is applied in several state-of-the-art pressure sensor and accelerometer applications. Ultra Low Power Capacitive Sensor Interfaces is essential reading for anybody with an academic or professional interest in semiconductor design.

The role of nanotechnology in protection

Nanotechnology is a new science and the revolution of the twenty-first century. There is a serious promising applications for nanotechnology that we can use in many fields, Such as (cosmetics, textiles, healthcare, tissue engineering, catalysis, functional coatings, medical diagnosis and therapeutics, sensors , communication engineering and water and air pollution treatment). It plays an essential role in protection by using it in sterilization and giving distinct results , it was also used to eliminate bacteria and viruses by incorporating nanofilter with many material containing the ability to reduce reproduction of bacteria or eliminating it. We have several examples of these materials like ( Copper (II) oxide, silver , graphene ) . Because of these unique features , nanofiber has been used in many filters types like ( air nanofilter , water nanofilter , oil nano filter ....etc.) But the specific type that interests us uses nanofilter in face masks.

Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering : Physics and Applications

Almost 30 years after the first reports on surface-enhanced Raman signals, the phenomenon of surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is now well established. Yet, explaining the enhancement of a spectroscopic signal by fouteen orders of magnitude continues to attract the attention of physicists and chemists alike. And, at the same time and rapidly growing, SERS is becoming a very useful spectroscopic tool with exciting applications in many fields. SERS gained particular interest after single-molecule Raman spectroscopy had been demonstrated. This bookl summarizes and discusses present theoretical approaches that explain the phenomenon of SERS and reports on new and exciting experiments and applications of the fascinating spectroscopic effect.

Substructuring Method for Civil Structural Health Monitoring

Investigates the substructuring technology in structural health monitoring (SHM) to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the present SHM methods. SHM has been developed for monitoring, evaluation, and maintenance of civil structures. As the civil structures are usually large scale and a large number of sensors are deployed on a structure, accurate evaluation and maintenance of civil structures are always time-consuming. The book establishes a fundamental framework of substructuring method for the fast analysis of finite element (FE) model and monitoring data. Several practical civil structures are used for illustration.
