Beginning with a section exploring detailed methods for use of zebrafish to model a variety of human diseases, the book continues by illuminating the key ongoing role of the fish model in studies of the vertebrate nervous system, tools and approaches using zebrafish to study stem cell and regenerative biology, as well as techniques in genetics and genomics. Written for the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step and readily reproducible laboratory protocols, as well as tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.
Writing Manuals for the Masses : The Rise of the Literary Advice Industry from Quill to Keyboard
This collection of essays examines the literary advice industry since its emergence in Anglo-American literary culture in the mid-nineteenth century within the context of the professionalization of the literary field and the continued debate on creative writing as art and craft. Often dismissed as commercial and stereotypical by authors and specialists alike, literary advice has nonetheless remained a flourishing business, embodying the unquestioned values of a literary system, but also functioning as a sign of a literary system in transition. Exploring the rise of new online amateur writing cultures in the twenty-first century, this collection of essays considers how literary advice proliferates globally, leading to new forms and genres.

Wayfinding, Consumption, and Air Terminal Design
Investigates how international air terminals organize passenger movement and generate spending. It offers a new understanding of how their architecture and artworks operate visually to guide people through the space and affect their behaviour. Draws upon numerous airport visits and interviews with architects and planners, as well as documents and articles that address these terminals’ development, construction, and renovations. The book establishes the main concerns of architects with respect to wayfinding strategies and analyzes how air terminal architecture, artworks, and interior design contribute to the airport’s operations.

Presents the minimally invasive philosophy before demonstrating the protocols necessary for the development of new skills for the surgeon, walking the reader through each phase of learning and practice required to advance to the next. Once this training is complete, the book reviews the basics of ergonomics, magnification, and subepithelial connective tissue grafting before moving on to the hallmark chapter on microsurgical techniques. This chapter comprises half the book and systematically presents each microsurgical technique, illustrating it step by step and then showcasing its use in multiple clinical case examples.
Waste Materials and By-Products in Concrete
Non-hazardous waste materials and by-products which are mostly landfilled can be used in making concrete and similar construction materials. This book gives a summary of this usage: one chapter is devoted to each material, comprising an introduction, chemical and physical properties, usage potential, and the impact of the material on the various properties of concrete. The waste materials and by-products covered in the book are; granulated blast furnace slag, metakaolin, waste and recycled plastics, scrap-tire, waste glass, coal fly ash, rice husk ash, municipal solid waste ash, wood ash, volcanic ash, cement kiln dust and foundry sand.
Wafer Level 3-D ICs Process Technology
The core of the book discusses alternative technology platforms for pre-packaging wafer level 3-D ICs, with an emphasis on wafer-to-wafer stacking. Driven by the need for improved performance, a number of companies, consortia and universities are researching methods to use short, monolithically-fabricated, vertical interconnections to replace the long interconnects found in 2-D ICs. Stacking disparate technologies to provide various combinations of densely-packed functions, such as logic, memory, MEMS, displays, RF, mixed-signal, sensors, and power delivery is potentially possible with 3-D heterogeneous integration, making this technology the "Holy Grail" of system integration.
Visualization for Information Retrieval
The amount of digitized information available on the Internet, in digital libraries, and other forms of information systems grows at an exponential rate, while becoming more complex and more dynamic. As a consequence, information organization, information retrieval and the presentation of retrieval results have become more and more difficult. reviews the main approaches and techniques available in the field, explains theoretical relationships between information retrieval and information visualization, and presents major information retrieval visualization algorithms and models. He then takes a detailed look at the theory and applications of information retrieval visualization for Internet traffic analysis, and Internet information searching and browsing.
