Prosthesis arm
A prosthetic arm equipped with internet of behavior technology has the potential to greatly improve the lives of those who have lost the use of their arm. Internet of behavior refers to the connection of physical devices to the internet, allowing them to collect and analyze data on human behavior and provide feedback to improve performance. In the case of a prosthetic arm, this technology would allow the device to gather data on the user's movements and activities, such as how often they perform certain tasks and how effectively they do so. The arm could then use this information to optimize its own performance and offer real-time feedback to the user to help them improve their technique.
Perspectives of Systems Informatics ; 6th International Andrei Ershov Memorial Conference, PSI 2006, Novosibirsk, Russia, June 27-30, 2006, Revised Papers
This volume contains the ?nal proceedings of the Sixth International Andrei Ershov Memorial Conference on Perspectives of System Informatics (PSI 2006), held in Akademgorodok (Novosibirsk, Russia), June 27-30, 2006. The conference was held to honour the 75th anniversary of a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Ershov (1931–1988) and his outsta- ing contributions towards advancing informatics.
Hypocretins : Integrators of Physiological Signals
The first report that rapid eye movements occur in sleep in humans was published in 1953. The research journey from this point to the realization that sleep consists of two entirely independent states of being (eventually labeled REM sleep and non-REM sleep) was convoluted, but by 1960 the fundamental duality of sleep was well established including the description of REM sleep in cats associated with “wide awake” EEG patterns and EMG suppression.
Computational Science and High Performance Computing ; Russian-German Advanced Research Workshop, Novosibirsk, Russia, September 30 to October 2, 2003
This volume contains contributions to the Russian-German Advanced Research Workshop on Computational Science and High Performance Computing as presented in September 2003 at Novosibirsk (Academgorodok), Russia. The workshop was organized jointly by the German High Performance Computing Center Stuttgart (HLRS) and the Russian Institute for Computational Technologies (ICT SB RAS). The contributions range from computer science, mathematics and high performance computing to applications in mechanical and aerospace engineering. They bring together a wealth of theoretical work and simulation experie.
Artificial Intelligence Applications for Health Care
Covers topics on health care and artificial intelligence. Data sets related to biomedical signals (ECG, EEG, EMG) and images (X-rays, MRI, CT) are explored, analyzed, and processed through different computation intelligence methods. Applications of computational intelligence techniques like artificial and deep neural networks, swarm optimization, expert systems, decision support systems, clustering, and classification techniques on medial datasets are explained. Survey of medical signals, medial images, and computation intelligence methods are also provided.
11th Mediterranean Conference on Medical and Biomedical Engineering and Computing 2007 ; MEDICON 2007, 26-30 June 2007, Ljubljana, Slovenia
Biomedical engineering today is a well-recognized area of research. It brings together bright minds from diverse disciplines ranging from engineering, physics, and computer sciences on one side to biology and medicine on the other side. With valuable assistance of members of the International Advisory Committee and Scientific Program Committee, the co-organizing institutions and societies, our sponsors, and distinguished invited lecturers we will ensure that the research and development presented at MEDICON 2007 plenary meetings, scientific sessions, and workshops will truly be relevant and up-to-date. The MEDICON conferences are international events of high scientific standards with long lasting tradition held every third year in one of the Mediterranean countries under the auspices of the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering.
