Adaptive and Personalized Semantic Web
Web Personalization can be defined as any set of actions that can tailor the Web experience to a particular user or set of users. To achieve effective personalization, organizations must rely on all available data, including the usage and click-stream data (reflecting user behaviour), the site content, the site structure, domain knowledge, as well as user demographics and profiles. In addition, efficient and intelligent techniques are needed to mine this data for actionable knowledge, and to effectively use the discovered knowledge to enhance the users' Web experience.
Adaptive agents and multi-agent systems II : Adaptation and multi-agent learning
Adaptive agents and multi-agent systems is an emerging and exciting interdisciplinary area of research and development involving artificial intelligence, software engineering, and developmental biology, as well as cognitive and social science. The papers deal with various aspects of machine learning, adaptation, and evolution in the context of agent systems and autonomous agents.
Adapting Proofs-as-Programs : The Curry--Howard Protocol

The proofs-as-programs paradigm constitutes a set of approaches to developing programs from proofs in constructive logic. there is increasingly active research in applying constructive techniques to industrial-scale, complex software engineering problems. One of the central themes of the book is a general, abstract framework for developing new systems of program synthesis by adapting proofs-as-programs to new contexts. Framework-oriented approaches that facilitate analogous - proaches to building systems for solving particular problems have been popular and successful. Thesemethodsarehelpful asthey providea formal toolbox that enablesa“roll-your-own”approachtodevelopingsolutions.Itishopedthatour framework will have a similar impact. The framework is demonstrated by example. We will give two novel - plications of proofs-as-programs to large-scale, coarse-grain software engine- ing problems: contractual imperative program synthesis and structured p- gram synthesis.
Adapting dermal fillers in clinical practice

Acne vulgaris in Syria : Epidemiology and treatment
Acne vulgaris, a chronic inflammatory disorder of the pilosebaceous unit, exerts significant physical and psychosocial burdens among adolescents. Despite anecdotal evidence of high prevalence in Syria, systematic epidemiological and treatment data are scarce, highlighting the need for local investigation. This study quantifies acne prevalence and severity among Syrian youths, evaluates treatment patterns and preventive practices, identifies patient-perceived triggers and advere effects, assesses psychosocial impacts, and synthesizes dermatologist recommendations to optimize acne management strategies within the Syrian healthcare context.
Accessing Multilingual Information Repositories ; 6th Workshop of the Cross-Language Evaluation Forum, CLEF 2005, Vienna, Austria, 21-23 September, 2005, Revised Selected Papers
The sixth campaign of the Cross Language Evaluation Forum (CLEF) for European languages was held from January to September 2005. CLEF is by now an established international evaluation initiative and 74 groups from all over the world submitted results for one or more of the different evaluation tracks in 2005, compared with 54 groups in 2004. There were eight distinct evaluation tracks, designed to test the performance of a wide range of systems for multilingual information access. Full details regarding the design of the tracks, the methodologies used for evaluation, and the results obtained by the participants can be found in the different sections of these proceedings.

A Theory of Marketing : Outline of a Social Systems Perspective
Marketing has become one of the most influential forces in contemporary market economies. Yet despite ubiquitous empirical presence, uncountable textbook definitions, and sixty years of scholarly work, a coherent sociological understanding of this powerful concept is still amiss. Drawing on Luhmannian social systems theory, historical analysis, and four qualitative studies, the author theorizes on the marketing function as a self-contained system of communications. It is argued that marketing systems prosper within a host organization if and as long as they successfully influence observers' preferences towards particular brands. On these conceptual foundations a comprehensive brand- and communication-centered theory is developed that fulfills Alderson', Cox' and Bartels' foundational requirements for a general theory of marketing in an unprecedented way.

Examining three of his vernacular medical texts, this volume considers Charleton’s thoughts on anatomy, physiology and the methods by which he sought to understand the invisible processes of the body.
