Visualization of Digital Terrain and Landscape Data : A Manual
Reflects a profound change that has taken place in the practice of landscape architecture and planning in the past twenty years. Traditional modes of representation – pen, pencil, watercolor, marker, et al – have been supplanted by digital modeling and animation. This transformation is not just in the medium of representation, however; it is more than a subs- tution of one marking device for another, such as may have been the case in the past when, for example, mechanical pens with cartridges replaced pens with nibs that were filled by dipping. physical objects or arrangements in 3D were transformed into a series of lines in 2D (plans, sections, elevations, e. g.
Visual C# 2005 Recipes : A Problem-Solution Approach

The recipes included in this book have been chosen and written with emerging pros in mind. The book features an equal balance of code and text. The supplied code gives you everything you need to solve the problem at hand, while the accompanying text provides supporting information.
Visual Astronomy Under Dark Skies: A New Approach to Observing Deep Space
Modern astronomical telescopes, along with other advances in technology, have brought the deep sky – star clusters, nebulae and the galaxies – within visual reach of amateur astronomers. It isn’t necessary to image deep-sky objects in order to see them; you look at them in real-time by using modern observing techniques and enhancement technology. The first requirement is a truly dark observing site. Given a location with clear, dark night skies everything else follows… this book contains all you need to know about what to observe, how to get superb views of faint and distant astronomical objects, and how to use the best of today’s commercial equipment for visual observing.
Virus Detection (VICE VERSA)
Hacking Detection using AI is a hot research topic. There are two types of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Network IDS(NIDS) and Host IDS (HIDS). In this project, we implemented a system that contains HISD and NIDS using machine learning and deep learning methods. The dataset we used for Network IDS is Network Intrusion Detection that contains 41 fields, while the dataset for Host IDS is Malware Dataset that contains 35 fields, so that the model can conclude if there is an attack or not.
Very High Resolution Photoelectron Spectroscopy
Photoemission spectroscopy is one of the most extensively used methods to study the electronic structure of atoms, molecules, and solids and their surfaces. The present volume introduces and surveys the field at highest energy and momentum resolutions allowing for a new range of applications, in particular for studies of high temperature superconductors.
Vertical Root Fractures in Dentistry
Provides a comprehensive overview of vertical root fractures (VRFs) in endodontically treated teeth, which may be associated with potentially severe damage to the supporting bone.
Vergleichsweise menschlich? : Ambulante Sanktionen als Alternative zur Freiheitsentziehung aus europäischer Perspektive = Comparatively human?: Outpatient sanctions as an alternative to imprisonment from a European perspective
Ambulatory sanctions are often seen as a humane alternative to deprivation of liberty. The nature of intervention, the perspective of those affected and the expansion of the network of social control are overlooked. The transfer of sanction practices between legal cultures requires minimum human rights standards. In addition, there are no control group studies and, in particular, no comparison with non-intervention. Instead of naively transferring a (supposed) "best practice" it is recommended to shift the focus from "nothing works" to an examination of the possibility that "nothing works".
Venture Capital, Corporate Governance, and Firm Value
Based on economic and managerial theories, Maik Kleinschmidt studies the relationship between venture capital, corporate governance, and firm value. He explores the determinants of venture capitalists’ influence as well as their impact on the corporate governance of portfolio companies. In a second step, he analyses the influence of corporate governance on the companies’ firm value. His findings support the hypothesis that venture capitalists improve the corporate governance of their portfolio companies and that their abilities determine their impact. Moreover, they show the positive impact of good corporate governance on some measures for firm value.
Vehicle Propulsion Systems : Introduction to Modeling and Optimization ; 1st ed.
Automobiles are responsible for a substantial part of the world's consumption of primary energy, mostly fossil liquid hydrocarbons. The reduction of the fuel consumption of these vehicles has become a top priority. Many ideas to reach that objective have been presented. In most cases these systems are more complex than the traditional approaches. For such complex systems a heuristic design approach fails. The only way to deal with this situation is to employ model-based methods. This text provides an introduction to the mathematical modeling and subsequent optimization of vehicle propulsion systems and their supervisory control algorithms.

Vascular embolotherapy : A comprehensive approach ; Vol.1 : General principles, chest, abdomen, and great vessels
Endovascular embolization therapy has made remarkable progress during the past two decades, driven primarily by improvements in digital imaging, breakthroughs in microcatheter technology and coil design, and the development of new embolic materials. This is the first of two volumes that present the current state of the art in this exciting and growing field. After an introductory section that discusses the general principles of embolization therapy, further sections are devoted to gastrointestinal, gynecological and obstetric, genitourinary, aortoiliac and bronchopulmonary applications. High informational content is supplemented by detailed graphics, providing a comprehensive reference work for both experts and novices in the field.
Valuing Environmental Amenities Using Stated Choice Studies : A Common Sense Approach to Theory and Practice
Provides practical, research-based advice on how to conduct high-quality stated choice studies. It covers every aspect of the topic, from planning and writing the survey, to analyzing results, to evaluating quality. Chapters by highly-regarded academics and professionals are provided on rarely-discussed topics such as "supporting questions” and experimental design, as well as state-of-the-art multinomial choice modelling, attribute processing, the role of information, and lessons learned from the field of experimental economics. There is no other book on the market today that so thoroughly addresses the methodology of stated choice. Academics and practitioners in fields such as environmental, health and transportation economics, and marketing, will need this book on their shelves – and they will refer to it often.
Value Chain Management in the Chemical Industry : Global Value Chain Planning of Commodities
Supply chain management helped companies to manage volumes, fulfil customer demand and optimize costs in production and distribution. Specifically, chemical industry companies with high complexity in production and distribution used supply chain management to steer their operations. Confronted with globalization and increasing raw material and sales price volatility, optimizing supply chain costs is no longer sufficient to ensure the overall profitability of the business. Value chain management takes supply chain management to the next level by integrating all volume and value decisions from sales to procurement. The book presents the value chain management concept and demonstrates how it is applied in a global value chain planning model for commodities in the chemical industry. A comprehensive industry case study illustrates the effects of decision making integration, e.g. the influence of raw material prices or exchange rates on optimal sales, production, distribution and procurement plans as well as overall company profitability.

Utilizing Sumac (Rhus coriaria) in pharmaceutical preparations for skin health
Aims to extract gelatin from sumac berries and incorporate it into two cosmetic products—a lip balm and a facial/hand mask—evaluating their physicochemical properties, antioxidant activity, and skinbenefiting attributes. A secondary objective is to assess the level of awareness among the Syrian population regarding sumac’s various uses beyond its culinary applications. Sumac fruits were mechanically ground and subjected to immersion, ultrasound, and microwave-assisted extraction methods, followed by filtration and evaporation to yield a viscous gelatinous extract.
