Geo-spatial technologies in urban environments : Policy, practice, and pixels
The purpose of this book is to investigate and develop alternate methodological approaches to understand urban environments and urban change. In particular, the study demonstrates the application of remote-sensing data and geographic information systems to the exploration of issues often ignored by the mainstream community of geo-technical specialists such as urban forestry, urban traffic, migration or quality of life in urban areas. Case studies show how disciplines like environmental science and planning, sociology, landscape ecology and architecture, regional science and policy design, and assessment can benefit from employing remote-sensing data and GIS.
Generator remote controlling using internet connection
The traditional technique of monitoring the electricity generated through regular checks on the alternator variables: oil, temperature, voltage and current on a daily basis. Therefore, maintaining a normal performance cycle requires hard work and is often imprecise. The idea is to create an application that monitors wireless generators using the popular smartphone Android operating system. Implemented sensors deliver analog signals that provide real-time data on the status of the generator. This data is converted and programmed through the Node MCU microcontroller, which reads the results from the sensors and then converts into a signal, which is transmitted to the android phone, through a router. Thus live feedback of the generator status is ensured. In addition, this project provides a control button that can actually turn this generator on and off. This project is the first step towards bringing systems and control together as it revolutionizes the ideology of monitoring and displaying real-time data that can be implemented in different fields according to different needs. These fields include electricity, mechanics, and communications.
General Relativity
This book offers an alternative to other textbooks on the subject, providing a more specific discussion of numerous general relativistic effects for readers who have knowledge of classical mechanics and electrodynamics, including special relativity. Gene Therapy for Cancer
The possibility of treating cancer, a disease defined by genetic defects, by introducing genes targeting these very alterations has led to an immense interest in gene therapy for cancer. Although incremental successes have been realized, enthusiasm for gene therapy has declined due to an increasing number of obstacles. These obstacles include vector systems that do not reach systemic metastases, therapeutic genes with redundant mec- nisms allowing for cellular resistance, and toxicities in clinical trials leading to premature closure of these studies. Different tactics to overcome or circumvent these obstacles have catalyzed the development of a wide range of gene therapy approaches. Thus far, almost two-thirds of gene therapy trials have focused on cancer. This reflects the concept that gene therapy approaches for the treatment of cancer do not necessarily require long-term expression of the gene as is necessary for the treatment of primary genetic defects like hemophilia or juvenile diabetes.

Exploring and exploiting of metabolites from endophytic in terrestrial, mangrove and marine habitats may provide an avenue for discovery of drug candidates against deadly human disease. This review focuses on the production of antioxidant and anticancer from severa fungi habitats.

The subject of this book is production, which is an important and extensive field in economic science. In fact, production, distribution and consump tion were long considered the three federated kingdoms which together formed the great empire of the economy. Functional Properties of Nanostructured Materials

The fundamental properties of these materials are remarkably altered as the size of their constituent grains or phases decreases to the nanometer scale. The 3rd Workshop on Formal Approaches to Agent-Based Systems (FAABS-III) was held at the Greenbelt Marriott Hotel (near NASA Goddard Space Flight Center) in April 2004 in conjunction with the IEEE Computer Society. The first FAABS workshop was help in April 2000 and the second in October 2002. Interest in agent-based systems continues to grow and this is seen in the wide range of conferences and journals that are addressing the research in this area as well as the prototype and developmental systems that are coming into use. Our third workshop, FAABS-III, was held in April, 2004. This volume contains the revised papers and posters presented at that workshop. The Organizing Committee was fortunate in having significant support in the planning and organization of these events, and were privileged to have wor- renowned keynote speakers Prof. J Moore (FAABS-I), Prof. Sir Roger Penrose (FAABS-II), and Prof. John McCarthy (FAABS-III), who spoke on the topic of se- aware computing systems, auguring perhaps a greater interest in autonomic computing as part of future FAABS events. We are grateful to all who attended the workshop, presented papers or posters, and participated in panel sessions and both formal and informal discussions to make the workshop a great success. Food - drug interactions
The effect of drug on a person may be different than expected because that drug interacts with another drug the person is taking (drug-drug interaction), food, beverages, dietary supplements the person is consuming (drug-nutrient/food interaction) or another disease the person has (drug-disease interaction). A drug interaction is a situation in which a substance affects the activity of a drug, i.e. the effects are increased or decreased, or they produce a new effect that neither produces on its own. These interactions may occur out of accidental misuse or due to lack of knowledge about the active ingredients involved in the relevant substances. Regarding food-drug interactions physicians and pharmacists recognize that some foods and drugs, when taken simultaneously, can alter the body's ability to utilize a particular food or drug, or cause serious side effects.
Focal liver lesions : Detection, characterization, ablation
Few fields of medicine have witnessed such impressive progress as the diagnosis and treatment of liver tumors.
