Several of the contributions to this volume bring forward many mutually beneficial interactions and connections between the three domains of the title. Developing them was the main purpose of the NATO ASI summerschool held in Montreal in 2003. Although some connections, for example between semigroups and automata, were known for a long time, developing them and surveying them in one volume is novel and hopefully stimulating for the future. Another aspect is the emphasis on the structural theory of automata that studies ways to contstruct big automata from small ones. The volume also has contributions on top current research or surveys in the three domains. One contribution even links clones of universal algebra with the computational complexity of computer science. Three contributions introduce the reader to research in the former East block.

Structural and Thermal Analyses of Deepwater Pipes
Focuses on advanced methods for the structural and thermal analysis of deepwater pipelines and risers. Strong Field Laser Physics

Stroh Formalism and Rayleigh Waves
The exposition is divided into three chapters. Chapter 1 gives a succinct introduction to the Stroh formalism so that the reader can grasp the essentials as quickly as possible. In Chapter 2 several important topics in static elasticity, which include fundamental solutions, piezoelectricity, and inverse boundary value problems, are studied on the basis of the Stroh formalism. Stress-testing bank during the COVID-19 pandemic : Comparative study in BEMO bank Saudi Fransi in Syria
The study aims to discuss the importance of liquidity and how to manage it for banks and to identify the risks to which the bank's liquidity may be exposed, in addition to conducting one of the tests that can reveal the risks that can be faced. To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the study examined the hypotheses through the data of BEMO BANK SAUDI FRANSI, and this test was conducted during the years 2019 and 2020. The stress test was used as one of the effective tests in order to determine whether the bank is able to meet deposit withdrawal obligations during five consecutive days. The test was applied to 2019 and 2020 to compare between them. After applying the stress test on 2019 and 2020, the following conclusion was reached: BEMO BANK SAUDI FRANSI failed during 2019 and 2020 in the stress test because it does not have sufficient liquidity to meet its deposit withdrawal obligations. Although the bank succeeded in testing on the first day of both years, it failed in the rest of the news days in 2019 and 2020
Stress-Activated Protein Kinases
To maximize the probability of survival, cells need to coordinate their intracellular activities in response to changes in the extracellular environment. MAP kinase cascades play an important role in the transduction of signals inside eukaryotic cells. In particular, stress stimuli result in the rapid activation of a highly conserved group of MAP kinases, known as SAPKs (Stress-Activated Protein Kinases). These kinases coordinate the generation of adaptive responses that are essential for cell survival, which include the modulation of several aspects of cell physiology from metabolism to gene expression.
Streptozotocin : Uses, mechanism of action and side effects
treptozotocin (STZ), an antibiotic and anticancer agent, is the most prominent diabetogenic chemical agent in diabetes research due to its cytotoxicity in pancreatic beta-cells. The selective toxicity of STZ due to beta cells occurs because of its preferential accumulation in beta cells through uptake via GLUT2 glucose transporter. Insulin dependent diabetes mellitus can be induced by either single high dose or multiple low- dose STZ injections. At low dose, STZ induces pancreatic beta-cell apoptosis and at high dose it causes necrosis. Though STZ itself can cause carcinogenesis and renal, hepatic and muscle myoblast toxicity, these side effects can be minimized or completely avoided by using lower doses.

Nowadays, the interest is shifting towards order-driven markets. Beginning with the Toronto Stock Exchange in the mid 1970s and increasing in fre quency and scope, this market structure has emerged as the preeminent form of security trading worldwide. In order-driven markets, exchanges arrange trades by matching public orders, often by employing automatic execution systems.
