A didactic concept is undertaken for microelectronics, computer technology and communication engineering, which deals with the visualization of signals and processes in addition to graphical programming of signal processing systems. Through the utilization of a professional and globally supported software for metrology and control engineering, DasyLab, useful applications can be developed, modified and optimized. Computer supported processing of real signals is made possible over the sound card and the parallel port. Over two hundred pre-programmed signal engineering systems and design transparencies are provided. An Energy Analysis of Household Consumption : Changing Patterns of Direct and Indirect Use in India

An economic feasibility study of extracting electrical energy from solar panels
The research is a case that study depends on both secondary and primary data. Secondary data should be collected from the firms producing the photo panels(local and foreign) and those that working in this field in addition to the data of the ministry of electricity in Syria and the national center of power, while primary data should be collected by interviews with the persons working in electricity field .Then the traditional steps of commercial profitability analysis should be followed starting in pre-feasibility study passing the detailed feasibility study steps which, in turn, consists of the following phases : market study , technical study , financial study in order to reach the estimated net cash flows that should be used in analyzing the project feasibility depending on all criteria both traditional " payback-period . Simple rate of return" and economic criteria " net present value and the internal rate of return”.
An assessment framework for compliance with international space law and norms : Promoting equitable access and Use of space for emerging actors
proposes a framework for assessing countries’ levels of compliance with international space law and norms. It begins by exploring the development of two movements – the evidence-based policymaking and programming movement, and the rise of ratings and rankings research – and their growth across various disciplines. The analysis suggests that such efforts are useful in gauging the behavior of countries in space according to how well they adhere to existing space law and norms. To date, there is no comprehensive, periodic, and systematic measure of countries’ efforts to comply with space law and norms; this work endeavors to fill that gap by offering a framework in which to assess compliance.

Ambiguities in Decision-oriented Life Cycle Inventories: The Role of Mental Models and Values
Shows for the first time how mental models and values influence this attribution in the life cycle inventory step of LCA. One of the key findings is that the different management rules for a sustainable use of materials must be taken into account for the attribution of material and energy flows to a product. Otherwise, improvement options recommended by an LCA might turn out to even worsen the environmental situation if reassessed from a meta-perspective. As a consequence of this book, the claim of unambiguitiy (‘objectivity’) of the life cycle inventory must be abandoned. A group-model building process for LCA is developed that allows one to grasp the decision makers' mental models and values in the inventory analysis on a case- and situation-specific basis. Only by this, LCA results will become relevant in a decision-making process. Two case studies on the modelling of recycling and other end-of-life options of aluminium windows and beech wood railway sleepers in LCA complement the methodological part.

Ambient intelligence : A novel paradigm
Ambient Intelligence (AmI) is an integrating technology for supporting a pervasive and transparent infrastructure for implementing smart environments. Such technology is used to enable environments for detecting events and behaviors of people and for responding in a contextually relevant fashion. AmI proposes a multi-disciplinary approach for enhancing human machine interaction. The authors start with a description of the iDorm as an example of a smart environment conforming to the AmI paradigm, and introduces computer vision as an important component of the system. Alzheimer is a disease which has not a cure yet, and about 10% of the population worldwide will suffer from it. However younger people may also develop this disease mainly at 45 years old mainly women who has double the rate of incidence since 1 if five women will certainly develop it. Therefore the goal of our research is to study first of all the history of such popular disease and its risk factors and current therapies or iagnostic tools and more important we will introduce a test which was discovered few months ago to predict the risk of developing Alzheimer few decades before it occurs and we will apply it in our laboratories in Syria as well. Beside this preventive test we will add also a very important diet to follow up by people who has a family history.

Alternatives Considered But Not Disclosed : The Ambiguous Role of PowerPoint in Cross-Project Learning
This study investigates the role of PowerPoint in organizational communication, particularly in terms of a functional dilemma between its application for documentation as opposed to presentation purposes. The theoretical part of the analysis combines insights from both organizational communication studies (J. R. Taylor et al.) and social systems theory (N. Luhmann et al.). The empirical analysis shows that PowerPoint documents created for cross-project learning purposes contribute to an invisibilization rather than a visibilization of decision processes and their contingency.
Alternative Splicing and Disease
Splicing of primary RNA transcript, i.e. removal of introns and joining of exons to produce mature mRNAs competent for translation into proteins, is a quasi-systematic step of gene expression in higher organisms. However, this process is not unequivocal but can follow alternate pathways. Alternative splicing of a given transcript can therefore yield several distinct mRNAs encoding as many different proteins. Its full biological significance has not been appreciated until it was recognized that alternative splicing is so general as to affect about 75% of all human genes. Therefore, alternative splicing not only vastly increases protein diversity but also offers numerous opportunities for aberrant splicing events with pathological consequences.
