AmIware : Hardware Technology Drivers of Ambient Intelligence
Ambient Intelligence is one of the new paradigms in the development of information and communication technology, which has attracted much attention over the past years. The aim is the to integrate technology into people environment in such a way that it improves their daily lives in terms of well-being, creativity, and productivity. Ambient Intelligence is a multidisciplinary concept, which heavily builds on a number of fundamental breakthroughs that have been achieved in the development of new hardware concepts over the past years. New insights in nano and micro electronics, packaging and interconnection technology, large-area electronics, energy scavenging devices, wireless sensors, low power electronics and computing platforms enable the realization of the heaven of ambient intelligence by overcoming the hell of physics.
Advanced driver assistance system (ADAS)
The purpose of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is to reduce or eliminate driver errors, and to enhance efficiency in traffic and transportation. Our project is a means and a great contribution to safe driving, and the user does not need to install sensors or hard tools to the vehicle, and through it, the cost can be reduced and maintenance cost can be eliminated. The images are processed and segmented to find different features in the image. Segmented images are used for identification and classification based on various machine learning algorithms and neural networks. The main focus of ADAS technologies is to contribute to factors such as safety management and automated, stress-free driving for the driver
Adaptive optics for industry and medicine ; Proceedings of the 4th International Workshop, Münster, Germany, Oct. 19-24, 2003
This book treats the development and application of adaptive optics for industry and medicine. The contributions describe recently developed components for adaptive-optics systems such as deformable mirrors, wavefront sensors, and mirror drivers as well as complete adaptive optical systems and their applications in industry and medicine. Applications range from laser-beam forming and adaptive aberration correction for high-power lasers to retinal imaging in ophthalmology. The contributions are based on presentations made at the 4th International Workshop on Adaptive Optics in Industry and Medicine which took place in Münster, Germany, in October 2003. This highly successful series of workshops on adaptive optics started in 1997 and continues with the 5th workshop in Beijing in 2005.

Overall, the sea’s contribution to human welfare, in terms of market and non-market resources and environmental services, has been estimated at US$21 trillion/year (Costanza, 2000). However, despite the importance of the ocean realm to humans, there is a growing sense that human impacts are destabilizing this system. Some experts believe that current fishing levels are approaching or exceeding the total 4 productivity of the ocean ecosystem (National Research Council, 1999).
