Welcome to the proceedings of the 2005 IFIP International Conference on - bedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC 2005), which was held in Nagasaki, Japan, December 6–9, 2005. Embedded and ubiquitous computing is emerging rapidly as an exciting new paradigm to provide computing and communication services all the time, - erywhere. Its systems are now pervading every aspect of life to the point that they are hidden inside various appliances or can be worn unobtrusively as part of clothing and jewelry. This emergence is a natural outcome of research and technological advances in embedded systems, pervasive computing and c- munications, wireless networks, mobile computing, distributed computing and agent technologies, etc. Its tremendous impact on academics, industry, gove- ment, and daily life can be compared to that of electric motors over the past century, in fact it but promises to revolutionize life much more profoundly than elevators, electric motors or even personal computers. The EUC 2005 conference provided a forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry, and government to address profound issues including te- nical challenges, safety, and social, legal, political, and economic issues, and to present and discuss their ideas, results, work in progress, and experience on all aspects of embedded and ubiquitous computing.
EM Modeling of Antennas and RF Components for Wireless Communication Systems
The book focuses on the practical aspects of computational electrodynamics. A short review of electromagnetic field theory and an illustrative introduction to basic concepts of numerical methods provide the mathematical and physical background. The main part the book guides the reader step-by-step through the modelling process: from the initial "what question shall the model answer?", through the setting up of a computer model by creating geometry, boundary conditions, sources, …, to post processing, validation, and optimization. A number of antenna and filter examples demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of different numerical methods. So the book provides a realistic view on the capabilities and limits of state-of-the-art 3D-field simulators and on how to apply this knowledge efficiently to EM analysis and designing of RF applications in modern communication systems.
Elisha Bartletts Philosophy of Medicine
This volume is a scholar's edition of the first systematic American work on the philosophy of medicine, An Essay on the Philosophy of Medical Science (Philadelphia, 1844), by Elisha Bartlett (1804-1855). The book is divided into two parts: Part I consists of a critical introduction that gives a biographical sketch of Elisha Bartlett and situates his empiricist philosophy of medicine within the philosophical debates of the various theoretical schools of medical practice of early nineteenth-century America. Short summaries of Bartlett's other writings and important addresses are presented, and many of the reviews of Bartlett's work that appeared in the medical journals of his time are discussed Also, the influence of the Paris clinical school on Bartlett's philosophy is shown. Part II contains the Essay, and includes a previously unpublished manuscript of Bartlett's philosophy of therapeutics, which develops some of the ideas of the Essay and adds another facet to Bartlett's philosophy of medicine.

We developed an AI Assistant equipped with features such as description crafting, title generation, keyword extraction, image captioning, clickbait detection, and sentiment analysis.To achieve these functionalities, we proposed a model for generating video descriptions using ResNet50 as a feature extractor and a LSTM network with an attention mechanism as a sequence generator, achieving a BLEU-1 score of 0.907 and a ROUGE-L score of 0.645. For keyword extraction, we utilized Sentence Transformer to identify strategically relevant keywords from the generated descriptions. For title generation, we fine-tuned the BART model, achieving a ROUGE-L score of 0.45. For clickbait detection, we used SVC classifier with linear kernel and TF-IDF vectorization for feature extraction, resulting in 96% accuracy. Our sentiment analysis model using a CNN-LSTM architecture achieved 80% accuracy in analyzing comments on videos. For image captioning, we employed a feature extractor with a CNN layer followed by an LSTM model, achieving a BLEU-1 score of 0.53. Our platform empowers creators by simplifying complex tasks and offering deeper audience engagement insights, making it a powerful tool in the evolving digital content creation.

Electron Scattering in Solid Matte r: A Theoretical and Computational Treatise
Addressing graduate students and researchers, this book gives a very detailed theoretical and computational description of multiple scattering in solid matter. Particular emphasis is placed on solids with reduced dimensions, on full potential approaches and on relativistic treatments. For the first time approaches such as the Screened Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker method that have emerged during the last 5 – 10 years are reviewed, considering all formal steps such as single-site scattering, structure constants and screening transformations, and also the numerical point of view. Furthermore, a very general approach is presented for solving the Poisson equation, needed within density functional theory in order to achieve self-consistency. Going beyond ordered matter and translationally invariant systems, special chapters are devoted to the Coherent Potential Approximation and to the Embedded Cluster Method, used, for example, for describing nanostructured matter in real space.
