Professional Career, Responsibilities, and Positions
Dr. Al-Armanazi held high-level leadership roles and assumed multiple responsibilities reflecting his accumulated administrative, scientific, and technical expertise throughout his career, including:
  • Researcher at Bell Labs (Bell Communications Research) in the USA (1971–1976).

  • Joined the Scientific Studies and Research Center (SSRC) in 1976, rising to become its Director-General from 1999 until his retirement in 2021.

  • Member of the Supreme Council of the Higher Commission for Scientific Research (2006–2018).

  • Member of the Board of Trustees of the Syrian Virtual University (2009–2024) and Al-Manara University (2016–2024).

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Excellence and Creativity Authority (2016–2021).

  • Member of the Board of Commissioners of the Telecommunications and Post Regulatory Authority (2023–2024).

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Computer Society (1997–1999) and its Board of Trustees (1999–2024).

  • Member of the Higher Supervisory Board of the Arab School for Science and Technology (1999–2021), contributing as a lecturer or chair of the scientific committee for several of its sessions since 1978.
