  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, New York, USA (1971).

  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (1967).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the American University of Beirut (1966).

Professional Career and Leadership Roles:
Dr. Al-Armanazi held high-level leadership positions and multiple responsibilities, reflecting his administrative and academic expertise, including:

  • Member of the Higher Supervision Committee of the Arab Organization for Education, Culture, and Science (ALECSO) since 1978, serving as a lecturer or chair of various committees.

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Scientific Society for Information since 1999, and member of its Board of Trustees until 2024.

  • Member of the Board of Trustees of the Syrian Virtual University and Al-Manara University.

  • Served as an expert at Bell Communications (USA) from 1971 to 1976.

  • Worked at the Center for Scientific Studies and Research, starting in 1976, and advanced to become Director-General of the Center from 1999 until his retirement in 2021.

  • Contributed to strategic studies and programs for the development of science and culture in the Arab world under the supervision of ALECSO.

  • Member of the Supervision Committee for the Regional Network for Science and Technology Management (STIGMA Program) Phase II, supported by UNESCO (1998–2001).

  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Excellence and Creativity Authority (2016–2021).
