Dr. Mohsen Hammoud

Dr. Mohsen Hammoud

Lecturer and researcher in computer science, specializing in data engineering and bioinformatics, with research interests including data science, biosystems, and computational biogeography. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science (Bioinformatics) from the Federal University ABC in São Paulo, Brazil, a Master's degree in Information Technology from the National University of Energy (UNITEN) in Malaysia, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Al-Qalamoun University – Syria.

With over a decade of academic and research experience, he has worked as a lecturer and researcher at prestigious educational and research institutions in Syria, Malaysia, and Brazil, holding various roles such as university lecturer, data engineer, technical lead, and project manager. He has participated in numerous research projects funded by international organizations, most notably the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), and has contributed to the development of advanced research tools and software in the fields of biological analysis and scientific data.

Currently, he serves as a faculty member at the College of Informatics at the Arab International University, teaching several courses, including Databases, Systems Analysis and Design, Software Project Management, and others.

His research focuses on biological data analysis, multi-agent systems, comparative analysis of evolutionary trees, and the development of research software tools. He has numerous publications in internationally recognized journals indexed in Scopus and ISI. Additionally, he has participated in international conferences and contributed to the development of web-based research tools used in the fields of bioinformatics and evolutionary biology.
