Integrated Support for University Life at the Arab International University

The Directorate of Services at the Arab International University (AIU) is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of services directly related to students’ daily university life. These services contribute to creating a safe, organized, and comfortable campus environment that supports the educational process and meets essential needs within the university.

The Directorate’s responsibilities include supervising university transportation services, reception and security, cleaning and sanitation, student housing, and logistical services. These tasks are carried out through a structured administrative framework and qualified staff operating in accordance with high standards of efficiency and continuous monitoring.

The Directorate of Services consists of several key departments, including:

Transportation Department

In order to ensure students’ comfort and safety, the Arab International University has contracted a specialized transportation company to provide a fleet of modern Pullman buses. These buses transport students to and from the university throughout official working days, from early morning until the end of the academic day.

The Transportation Supervisor maintains continuous coordination between students and the transportation company’s management to ensure the delivery of services at the highest levels of quality and commitment.

In addition, the university owns dedicated vehicles that support the transportation fleet and meet various logistical needs. The university also provides a fully equipped ambulance to ensure students’ health and safety and to transport emergency cases either to the on-campus medical clinic or to hospitals when necessary.

Reception and Security Department

The Reception and Security Department supervises the management of reception and security personnel across the university campus. The department includes more than 55 staff members who operate around the clock, 24 hours a day, to ensure the safety and security of the university and its community.

The responsibilities of reception staff within the faculties include:

  • Providing necessary assistance to students during official working hours.

  • Monitoring student violations and referring them to the university administration in accordance with approved regulations.

The university has also contracted a private security company to secure the perimeter of the campus and prevent unauthorized access. The Reception and Security Department continuously monitors the company’s performance and supervises its personnel.

Cleaning and General Services Department

The Arab International University places great emphasis on campus cleanliness and hygiene. A large workforce of more than 75 staff members has been appointed to carry out cleaning services across:

  • Lecture halls and classrooms

  • Restrooms

  • Courtyards and public facilities

Cleaning supervisors conduct daily follow-ups and ensure the continuous availability of cleaning and sanitation supplies, including soap, disinfectants, and hygiene materials, to maintain a healthy and safe environment for students and university staff.

The Directorate also provides general service workers to support the needs of various faculties and units by carrying out service-related tasks such as transporting furniture, equipment, and stationery, and supporting different operational activities within the university.

Through these integrated services, the Directorate of Services plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of university life and providing a safe, organized, and supportive educational environment at the Arab International University.
