Dr. Moaz Motaz Al-Ajlani
A researcher and university professor specializing in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from the University of Lahore in Pakistan, under joint supervision with the University of Göttingen in Germany. He possesses extensive international research and academic experience, having worked as a visiting researcher and lecturer at prestigious universities in the United States, Sweden, Austria, Italy, and Germany. He also served as the Head of the Biological Bacterial Pharmacy Unit at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in Germany.
He has held academic leadership positions at several Syrian universities, including Dean of the College of Pharmacy at Al-Sham Private University and Qasyoun Private University, in addition to his current role as a faculty member at the College of Pharmacy – Arab International University. With over 15 years of experience, he has taught courses in Microbiology, Bacterial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, Genetics, and Genetic Engineering, supervised graduation and postgraduate projects, and chaired quality assurance and academic accreditation committees. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Al-Israa University in Jordan and as a lecturer at the International Private University for Science and Technology and Damascus University.
He has published over 72 scientific papers in internationally peer-reviewed journals and participated in more than 60 scientific conferences. His research has been cited over 2,000 times according to Google Scholar. He has received several international grants, including the German DAAD scholarship and research grants in Germany and the United States. He also won the award for Best Scientific Presentation at the Biocommunication Conference in Germany (2008).
He is a member of several international scientific associations, such as the American Society for Microbiology, the European Society for the Discovery of Natural Products, and the Austrian Pharmacological Society. He is fluent in English, German, and Swedish.
