Zaha Hadid : Basic Art
Zaha Hadid was a revolutionary architect, who for many years built almost nothing, despite winning critical acclaim. Some even said her audacious, futuristic designs were unbuildable. During the latter years of her life, Hadid’s daring visions became a reality, bringing a unique new architectural language to cities and structures as varied as the Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art in Cincinnati, hailed by The New York Times as “the most important new building in America since the Cold War”; the MAXXI Museum in Rome; the Guangzhou Opera House in China; and the London 2012 Olympics Aquatics Centre.

Yearbook on Space Policy 2006/2007 : New Impetus for Europe
The Yearbook on Space Policy aims to be the reference publication analysing space policy developments. Each year it presents issues and trends in space policy and the space sector as a whole. Its scope is global and its perspective is European. The Yearbook also links space policy with other policy areas. It highlights specific events and issues, and provides useful insights, data and information on space activities.

Written in the highly successful Methods in Molecular Biology series format, chapters include introductions to their respective topics, lists of the necessary materials and reagents, step-by-step, readily reproducible laboratory protocols, and key tips on troubleshooting and avoiding known pitfalls.
xxAI - Beyond Explainable AI : International Workshop, Held in Conjunction with ICML 2020, July 18, 2020, Vienna, Austria, Revised and Extended Papers
Explainable AI is receiving huge interest in the machine learning and AI research communities, across academia, industry, and government, and there is now an excellent opportunity to push towards successful explainable AI applications. This volume will help the research community to accelerate this process, to promote a more systematic use of explainable AI to improve models in diverse applications, and ultimately to better understand how current explainable AI methods need to be improved and what kind of theory of explainable AI is needed.
X-Ray fluorescence spectroscopy for laboratory applications
X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy for Laboratory Applications begins with a short overview of the physical fundamentals of the generation of X-rays and their interaction with the sample material, followed by a presentation of the different methods of sample preparation in dependence on the quality of the source material and the objective of the measurement. After a short description of the different available equipment types and their respective performance, the book provides in-depth information on the choice of the optimal measurement conditions and the processing of the measurement results. It covers instrument types for XRF; acquisition and evaluation of X-Ray spectra; analytical errors; analysis of homogeneous materials, powders, and liquids; special applications of XRF; process control and automation.
Wrong for the Right Reasons
The rapidity with which knowledge changes makes much of past science obsolete, and often just wrong, from the present's point of view. We no longer think, for example, that heat is a material substance transferred from hot to cold bodies. But is wrong science always or even usually bad science? The essays in this volume argue by example that much of the past's rejected science, wrong in retrospect though it may be - and sometimes markedly so - was nevertheless sound and exemplary of enduring standards that transcend the particularities of culture and locale.
Writing in Context(s) : Textual Practices and Learning Processes in Sociocultural Settings
The premise that writing is a socially-situated act of interaction between readers and writers is well established. This volume first, corroborates this premise by citing pertinent evidence, through the analysis of written texts and interactive writing contexts, and from educational settings across different cultures from which we have scant evidence. Secondly, all chapters, though addressing the social nature of writing, propose a variety of perspectives, making the volume multidisciplinary in nature. Finally, this volume accounts for the diversity of the research perspectives each chapter proposes by situating the plurality of terminological issues and methodologies into a more integrative framework. Thus a coherent overall framework is created within which different research strands (i.e., the sociocognitive, sociolinguistic research, composition work, genre analysis) and pedagogical practices developed on L1 and L2 writing can be situated and acquire meaning.
Wrist Arthroscopy
Dr. William B. Geissler has selected an international group of experts to compose this practical guide to wrist arthroscopy that is a comprehensive reference for both orthopedic residents new to the field and for experienced orthopedic surgeons looking to refine their technique. The book covers fundamental topics, such as arthroscopic anatomy and the proper evaluation of wrist pain, before advancing to thorough discussions of electrothermal shrinkage, arthroscopy of the thumb and small joints of the hand, and specific diagnoses for an array of common injuries. Orthopedists will appreciate the emphasis that this book places on the treatment of wrist disorders. Current minimally invasive procedures are described in detail, including management of carpal instability, new techniques in arthroscopic repair of TFCC tears, and arthroscopic excision of both volar and dorsal wrist ganglia. Tips and tricks are highlighted that make implementing new techniques easier.
Wound antiseptics in nosocomial infections
"Nosocomial" term is used for any disease acquired by patient under medical care. It is an infection acquired by patient during hospital stay. Recently, a new term, "healthcare associated infections" is used for the type of infections caused by prolonged hospital stay and it accounts for a major risk factor for serious health issues leading to death

The editors have carefully organized the chapters into sub-topics. Researchers and lecturers will learn about the full range of what has been done and where the field is headed. Developers will learn which technique(s) will apply to their particular application, how to build and evaluate systems, and what performance to expect.
Womens Health in Clinical Practice : A Handbook for Primary Care
Traditionally, women’s health has been synonymous with obstetrics and gynecology. With the exception of Family Medicine physicians who are trained in obstetric and gynecologic issues, most primary care physicians have received little training in reproductive health issues even though they care for women and girls. In recent years, there has been growing recognition that sex differences do exist between the organ systems of women and men, and research about male and female physiologic differences has bolstered the growing body of knowledge about sex differences. Women’s Health: A Handbook for Primary Care presents the most recent changes in current research and provides the reader with an easily accessible reference to common women’s health issues. The topics in this text range from health problems that largely affect only women, like cervical cancer and breast disease, to health problems that present differently in women than in men, such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
Wireless Transceiver Systems Design
This book illustrates true cross-disciplinary electronic system-level design with examples in algorithm-architecture co-design, mixed-signal algorithm and architecture co-design, and cross-layer system exploration. It also focuses on three recurring themes, the preference for scalable and reusable architectual concepts, proof-of-concept through actual design and experimental verification, and consequent analysis of design steps and their development into a methodology.Wireless Transceiver Systems Design is a valuable reference for specialists in the field of OFDM transceiver design.
