The Extended Field of Operator Theory
Contributions cover the main themes of the workshop: invariant subspaces, Krein space operator theory and its applications, multivariate operator theory and operator model theory, operator theory and function theory, systems theory including inverse scattering, structured matrices, and spectral theory of non-selfadjoint operators, including pseudodifferential and singular integral operators.
Operator Theory in Krein Spaces and Nonlinear Eigenvalue Problems
They deal with spectral and perturbation theory of linear operators in indefinite inner product spaces and their applications. The topics include extension theory of symmetric operators, normal operators, realization theory and models of generalized Nevanlinna functions, interpolation problems, reproducing kernel spaces, matrix and operator pencils, locally definitizable functions, and semigroups.
Operator Theory in Inner Product Spaces
Contains contributions written by participants of the 4th Workshop on Operator Theory in Krein Spaces and Applications, which was held at the TU Berlin, Germany, December 17 to 19, 2004. The workshop covered topics from spectral, perturbation and extension theory of linear operators and relations in inner product spaces, including spectral analysis of differential operators, the theory of generalized Nevanlinna functions and related classes of functions, spectral theory of matrix polynomials, and problems from scattering theory.
Operator Theory and Indefinite Inner Product Spaces : Presented on the Occasion of the Retirement of Heinz Langer in the Colloquium on Operator Theory, Vienna, March 2004
Includes abstract spectral theory in Krein spaces to more concrete applications, e.g., to boundary value problems, the study of orthogonal functions or moment problems. The book closes with a historical survey paper.
