Transactions on Aspect-Oriented Software Development IV : Focus : Early Aspects and Aspects of Software Evolution
This volume, the fourth in the Transactions on Aspect-Oriented Software Development series, presents 5 revised papers together with 2 guest editors' introductions. The papers, which focus on mapping of early aspects across the software lifecycle, and aspects and software evolution, have passed through a careful peer reviewing process, carried out by the journal's Editorial Board and expert referees.
Transactions on Aspect-Oriented Software Development I
This book, the first volume in the Transactions on Aspect-Oriented Software Development series, presents nine revised papers that have been through a careful peer reviewing process by the journal's Editorial Board. The papers cover a wide range of topics from software design to implementation of aspect-oriented languages. The first four articles address various issues of aspect-oriented modeling at the design level; the following four articles discuss various programming language issues. The final article in this volume describes a workbench for implementing aspect-oriented languages, so that easy experimentation with new language features and implementation techniques are possible.
Training for Work in the Informal Micro-Enterprise Sector : Fresh Evidence from Sub-Sahara Africa
This study reviews the ways in which the owners and workers of IMEs have acquired the vocational and management skills that they are using in the operation of these ventures. It reviews the contributions of all the different training providers, including public sector training institutes, private sector training providers, and training centres run by NGOs and other non-profit organizations. Its findings confirm the notion that the training efforts of these formal training providers are only to a limited extent relevant for the IME operators, and that many of the poor and other vulnerable groups do not have ready access to these programmes.
Towards Next Generation Grids ; Proceedings of the CoreGRID Symposium 2007
The aim of this symposium is to strengthen and advance scientific and technological excellence in the area of Grid and Peer-to-Peer Computing. It is organized by the CoreGRID Network of Excellence funded by the European Union under the sixth Framework Programme. CoreGRID aims at building a virtual European-wide Research Laboratory in Grid and P2P technologies and involves 41 partners from 19 countries gathering 300 researchers and PhD students.

Today’s mobile robot perception is insufficient for acting goal-directedly in unconstrained, dynamic everyday environments like a home, a factory, or a city. Subject to restrictions in bandwidth, computer power, and computation time, a robot has to react to a wealth of dynamically changing stimuli in such environments, requiring rapid, selective attention to decisive, action-relevant information of high current utility. Robust and general engineering methods for effectively and efficiently coupling perception, action and reasoning are unavailable. Interesting performance, if any, is currently only achieved by sophisticated robot programming exploiting domain features and specialties, which leaves ordinary users no chance of changing how the robot acts.

The second part the book focuses on the curriculum and pedagogical implications of the WEF study, including basic education, education for sustainable development, values education, conflict resolution and peace, and educating world citizens.
